Twins: Wilkin Ramirez was 1-for-4 with an RBI for Este.
Aguilas: Dan Black (White Sox) was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer. Ricardo Nanita was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Lay Batista (Atlanta) retired all five batters he faced.
Este: Alen Hanson (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with two walks and four runs. Matt Hague (Toronto) was 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. Elih Villanueva (Miami) struck out four in three shutout innings, allowing three hits.
The game: Este trailed 3-2 after four, but a three-run fifth gave them the lead and single runs in the sixth and eighth made it 7-3.
CIBAO 3, LICEY 0 IN CIBAO
Twins: Jeremias Pineda was used as a defensive replacement by Cibao and did not bat.
Licey: Rymer Liriano (San Diego) was 2-for-4. Victor Marte pitched a perfect perfect inning, striking out all three men he faced.
Cibao: Emmanuel Burriss (Washington) was 2-for-2 with a triple and a double. Moises Sierra (White Sox) was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jose De Paula (San Francisco) struck out five in five shutout innings, allowing four hits and no walks.
The game: Cibao scored one in the second and two in the fifth. Licey's best scoring chance came in the third, when they got a man to third base with one out.
ORIENTE 4, ESCOGIDO 1 IN ESCOGIDO
Oriente: Matt Fields (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, driving in one. Junior Lake (Cubs) was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring twice. Richard Bleier (Toronto) pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on six hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
Escogido: Pedro Florimon was 3-for-4 with a run. Jordan Pacheco (Arizona) was 2-for-3. Andre Rienzo (White Sox) pitched five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
The game: Florimon singled and scored to give Escogido a 1-0 lead in the third, but Lake singled and scored to it in the fourth and Fields tripled and scored in the sixth to give Oriente a 2-1 advantage. Oriente put it away with two in the ninth.
