OBREGON 4, MAZATLAN 1 IN MAZATLAN
Twins: Corey Wimberly was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run for Obregon.
Obregon: Dean Anna (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a walk, driving in two. Said Gutierrez was 1-for-3 with a double and a run. Ramon Delgado (St. Louis) pitched 6.1 innings, giving up one run on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
Mazatlan: Stetson Allie (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Alejandro Martinez pitched 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
The game: Anna's RBI double was key to a two-run third that put Obregon up 2-1. It stayed there until the ninth, when RBI doubles by Robert Saucedo and Anna put the game out of reach.
LOS MOCHIS 3, HERMOSILLO 1 IN LOS MOCHIS
Hermosillo: Sebastian Elizalde (Cincinnati) was 1-for-4 with a home run, his fourth. Jerry Owens was 2-for-4 with a walk. Roy Corcoran (Dodgers) struck out two in two perfect innings.
Los Mochis: Juan Carlos Gamboa was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, his second. Rodolfo Amador was 2-for-3 with a run. Alberto Castillo struck out eight in five innings, allowing one run on three hits and five walks.
The game: Gamboa hit a two-run homer in the first, Elizalde homered in the second, and Los Mochis added a run in the third. Hermosillo's only threat after that came in the ninth, when the bases were loaded with two out.
MEXICALI 4, CULIACAN 2 IN MEXICALI
Culiacan: Nick Buss (Oakland) was 2-for-4 with a run. Jorge Vazquez was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Alejandro Armenta struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks.
Mexicali: Mike Jacobs (Arizona) was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second. Xorge Carrillo (Mets) was 1-for-4 with a home run. Omar Espinoza pitched 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks with one strikeout.
The game: Jacobs homered in the eighth to break a 2-2 tie. Shane Peterson (Oakland) had an RBI single later in the inning for an insurance run.
JALISCO 6, NAVOJOA 4 IN NAVOJOA
Jalisco: Leo Heras (Houston) was 3-for-4 with two home runs (his second and third) and a double, scoring twice and driving in three. Marquez Smith (Cincinnati) was 1-for-3 with a home run (his third) and two walks, scoring twice. Orlando Lara struck out six in 5.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits and five walks.
Navojoa: Eliseo Aldazaba was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a double. Rolando Acosta was 2-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Esteban Haro pitched three innings, allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts.
The game: Heras had an RBI double in a two-run third that put Jalisco up 3-0. They built the lead to 6-1 after six. Navojoa closed to 6-4 in the ninth but did not get the tying run up to bat.
