ESTE 5, LICEY 3 IN LICEY

Este:  Tyler Moore (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a walk, driving in two.  Alen Hanson (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.  Raul Valdes (Toronto) pitched seven innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks with three strikeouts.

Licey:  Diory Hernandez was 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs.  Jhonatan Solano (Washington) was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Randall Delgado (Arizona) struck out seven in five innings, allowing one run on three hits and one walk.

The game:  A three-run seventh put Este up 4-1.  It was 5-1 in the bottom of the ninth when Solano hit a two-run double to make it 5-3, but the tying run did not reach base.

AGUILAS 10, ORIENTE 7 IN ORIENTE

Aguilas:  Andy Marte (Arizona) was 3-for-3 with a grand slam, a double, and two walks, scoring twice and driving in five.  Manny Ramirez (Cubs) was 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, driving in three.  Lay Batista (Atlanta) struck out two in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up only a walk.

Oriente:  Alex Valdez was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Gustavo Nunez (Atlanta) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Kelvin Jimenez pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing only a walk with one strikeout.

The game:  Aguilas trailed 4-2 after six but scored five in the seventh and three in the eighth.  Marte hit his grand slam in the seventh inning.  Oriente cut the lead to 10-7 in the ninth but did not bring the tying run up to bat.
