Magallanes: Jake Opitz (Philadelphia) was 1-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one. Luis Nunez (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Dustin Richardson (Angels) struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks.
Caracas: Luis Antonio Rodriguez was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Felix Perez (Cincinnati) was 1-for-3 with a double and a run. Jarrett Grube (Angels) pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks with two strikeouts.
The game: Opitz tripled in a run in the seventh and came in on a Nunez single to make the score 4-1. Caracas brought the tying run up to bat in the bottom of the seventh but their last seven batters were retired.

La Guaira: Alex Castellanos (San Diego) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his second), scoring twice. Odubel Herrera (Texas) was 2-for-5 with a triple and a double, scoring once and driving in two. Junior Guerra pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on three hits and no walks with five strikeouts.
Lara: Brian Hernandez (Angels) was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Lara had only three hits.
The game: Guillermo Rodriguez doubled in two in the fourth to put La Guaira ahead 3-1. Herrera's two-run triple in the seventh made it 5-1 and a two-run homer by Herrera in the eighth made it 7-2.
ANZOATEGUI 13, MARGARITA 3 IN ANZOATEGUI
Margarita: Eliezer Alfonzo was 1-for-3 with a home run, his second. Junior Sosa was 2-for-3 with a run.
Anzoategui: Brandon Allen (Mets) was 2-for-5 with two home runs and a walk, driving in five. Balbino Fuenmayor (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with two home runs (his second and third) and five RBIs. Paolo Espino (Washington) pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
The game: Anzoategui got a two-run homer by Allen and a three-run homer by Fuenmayor in the fourth to go up 5-1. They got a three-run homer by Allen and a two-run homer by Fuenmayor in the fifth to go up 10-1.
