Rumor is Douggie will be named manager. He is my third choice of the three but I will readily admit that I have no idea who would be best.
He was actually my first choice, and ditto.
The LCS* owner here says you can NEVER name a local hero as manager and have it work out well**, so Molitor shouldn't be considered.

**unless of course he is a great manager
Seconded on him being my first choice if only based on his immediate success in the FGCL.

which we know by observing how many WS he gets to and wins. Bruce Bochy: lock for the HOF!!!!1111one111!!!!
Bochy is the only manager to win at least three WS and not be in the HOF.
Yes, I know that from having heard it a zillion times from Joe Buck.
I like Bochy just fine. But is there some magical threshold that one passes by getting a third title? I don't remember any huge proclamation about TK after 1991.
Considering Bochy has a winning record and over 1,600 wins, I think he had the Hall of Fame wrapped up after the previous WS title. He got the Padres to the postseason four times and the World Series once.
Apparently he also has a huge head. Just sayin.
I'm with Rhu_Ru. Except and Unless Steinbach was a candidate.
I count M16 as a local hero, too.
He's not a Minnesota boy.
I'd rather see Molly than M11.

So Joe Mauer will be okay then.

M16. Yeah baby. I swore off buying twins jerseys and shirseys years ago, but they might just pull me back in.
Wondering what to drink with your Halloween candy tonight? Well here are your craft beer pairings.
Oh man, I might have to pick up a bottle of Raspberry Tart from New Glarus. That with the dark chocolate sounds like it would be pretty awesome. My wife would probably even enjoy that.
I'm currently arguing with Gleeman who is saying that Rubio "can't shoot" and "needs to generate his own scoring." The parallels to what the Stribbers say about Mauer seem to be lost on him.
All of that is going to get so much worse when he signs his extension today.
Gleeman got an extension - crax.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA
Minnesota’s Ricky Rubio has reached agreement on a four-year, $55 million-plus contract extension, a league source tells Yahoo Sports.
I approve. And considering what Klay Thompson got paid, I am really, really glad that never happened.
And he would probably not fit well in a Flip Saunders coached offense

In the Halloween bowl we have left:
3 Reeses
1 Twizzler
9 suckers
We've never gone this long before (usually shut down at 7 bells and shut the lights out).
I bought a huge amount of candy this year but the nice weather (actually it's sprinkling out intermittently) has brought out our costumed children in droves.
Lot of Ninja Turtles, girls in blonde wigs, and some Harry Potter stuff.
A Hard Rain's a Been Falling around here. currently in a lull, but I'm sure the numbers will be way down.
Bonus: not going to the h.s. football game and no pep band because of the rain.
Double bonus: just finished the CSS/PROFILE crap, before the midnight eastern deadline for early decision apps. The Girl has her sights set on a certain, umm, Animal House-ish school in the Northeast.
I'm not totally certain the Cavaliers know how to properly integrate Kevin Love in their offense.
Gonna take a while. Lebron not having a good start to his season.
Kyrie may not mesh well with lebron. Those two will figure out how to work with Love. But can they work with each other?
And Dion Waiters doesn't mesh well with anyone.
Nice post-up by Klub.
I like the little white backup pg. Delladenova or summat. Feisty, with a nice deep ball and decent handle.
Also, the Bulls win big in exchanging Boozer for Gasol.
This feels a little understated.
Did LeBron turn old this offseason? He looks awful.
Heh, I was going to make the exact same comment.
Two data points define a line.
What does that possession's third data point define?
Plain awful?
Science!
Varejao should never shoot outside of the restricted area. I have more confidence in Noah's jumper.
Nice undercut, Klub.
It's a shame the Bulls were able to force the Wolves into settling for the other Gator all them years ago.
Four points -- hyperplane!
The ending to this game has been pretty fun. (Although I wonder if one of the refs went to UNC or something.)
Also, I'm rooting for overtime so the Bulls area little more tenderized for the Wolves tomorrow.
Kirk Hinrich is the greatest player EVAH!
That is an ugly but correct call.
Except for the extra steps.
Yeah, looked much better on the replay. Not exactly a bang up sequence for Gibson there.
Yeesh, Gibson.
That Bulls lead disappeared quickly.
Wolves-ian.
Did I miss Gasol getting hurt?
Will the Lakers score 70 points?
This season?
Watching Kings/Blazers. Kings pbp guy says after another brick, "McLemore struggling with his shot."
Me: no, he just sucks.
So if I watch this one, am I in for some low quality ball?
Uh, yes.
Taj Gibson like levels of suck from Cousins right now.
Holy crap. Russell Westbrook with a broken hand. OKC is snakebit.

I almost feel bad.
