CIBAO 11, ESCOGICO 10 IN CIBAO (11 INNINGS)

Twins:  Jeremias Pineda came off the bench to go 1-for-1 with a run for Cibao.

Escogido:  Jett Bandy (Angels) was 2-for-3 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in three.  Ronny Paulino (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one.  Julio DePaula (Baltimore) retired all five men he faced, striking out two.

Cibao:  Carlos Peguero (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with two home runs (his second and third) and two walks, scoring three times and driving in three.  Alexi Casilla (Baltimore) was 3-for-6 with a run and an RBI.  James Hoyt (Atlanta) struck out three in two perfect innings.

The game:  Escogido led 7-4 and 9-7, but four walks and a single produced two runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie it 9-9.  Eudy Perez homered for Escogido in the top of the eleventh, but a two-run single by Emmanuel Burriss (Washington) gave Cibao the victory.

LICEY 7, ESTE 6 IN LICEY

Este:  Cristhian Adames (Colorado) was 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk, scoring once and driving in two.  Cameron Maybin (San Diego) was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run.  Jose Lugo struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.

Licey:  Nomar Mazara (Texas) was 2-for-4 with a grand slam, scoring twice.  Rymer Liriano (San Diego) was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer.  Mitch Atkins (Atlanta) struck out five in five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks.

The game:  Mazara's grand slam came in the fourth and put Licey ahead 7-2.  Este scored two in the sixth and two in the eighth and had the tying run on third with two out in the eighth.

ORIENTE 3, AGUILAS 1 IN ORIENTE

Aguilas:  Rafael Ynoa (Colorado) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.  Andy Marte (Arizona) was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Donnie Veal (White Sox) pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Oriente:  Aneury Tavarez (Boston) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.  Matt Fields (Kansas City) was 1-for-2 with two walks and an RBI.  Radhames Liz (Toronto) struck out eleven in 5.1 innings, allowing one run on four hits and a walk.

The game:  With two out and none on in the first, Oriente got five consecutive singles to score all three of their runs.  Aguilas got its lone run in the sixth but did not get the tying run on base.
