ANZOATEGUI 4, ZULIA 3 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins:  Oswaldo Arcia was 1-for-4 with a home run for Anzoategui.  Ryan O'Rourke pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one walk with one strikeout, for Zulia.

Zulia:  Carlos Moncrief (Cleveland) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.  Mark Minicozzi (San Francisco) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.  Yeiper Castillo (Oakland) pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks with one strikeout.

Anzoategui:  Jesus Flores (Kansas City) was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and a walk.  Jose Alvarez (Angels) pitched three shutout innings, allowing no hits and one walk with one strikeout.

The game:  Zulia scored three in the third, Anzoategui came back with four in the fourth, and that was it for the scoring.  Oswaldo Arcia led off the inning with a home run and Flores hit a two-run homer to tie it, but the go-ahead run came on a two-out single by Orlando Arcia (Milwaukee).

LARA 5, MAGALLANES 4 IN LARA (10 INNINGS)

Magallanes:  Jose Rondon (San Diego) was 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI.  Ramon Hernandez was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, driving in one.  Orangel Arenas (Angels) pitched six innings, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout.

Lara:  Cesar Izturis (Houston) was 2-for-3 with three runs.  Paulo Orlando (Kansas City) was 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Erasmo Ramirez (Seattle) pitched six innings, allowing two unearned runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

The game:  Magallanes had a run walked in to tie the score 4-4 in the top of the ninth.  Brian Hernandez (Angels) singled in the winning run for Lara in the tenth.

ARAGUA 8, MARGARITA 5 IN ARAGUA

Margarita:  Taylor Motter (Tampa Bay) was 3-for-5 with two home runs (his third and fourth), scoring three times.  Carlos Garcia (Kansas City) was 1-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.  Matt Nevarez (Pittsburgh) pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.

Aragua:  Wilson Contreras was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer (his third) and two runs.  Avisail Garcia (White Sox) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and two runs.  Yohan Pino pitched a perfect inning.

The game:  Aragua broke a 4-4 tie with four in the fourth.  Garcia homered for the first run of the inning, one scored on a wild pitch, and Argenis Diaz singled in two.

LA GUAIRA 6, CARACAS 0 IN LA GUAIRA

Caracas:  Yoimer Camacho (Arizona) struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up no hits and no walks.

La Guaira:  Odubel Herrera (Texas) was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Rene Reyes was 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs.  Edgmer Escalona (Yankees) pitched six shutout innings, allowing four hits and no walks with one strikeout.

The game:  Herrera's two-run single in the fourth put La Guaira up 3-0.  They added two in the fifth and one in the sixth.
