SALT RIVER 8, SCOTTSDALE 4 IN SALT RIVER
Twins: Eddie Rosario was 1-for-5. Max Kepler was 2-for-4 with two runs. Zack Jones pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up no runs on no hits with two walks and one strikeout.
Scottsdale: L. J. Mazzilli (Mets) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in two. Dan Gamache (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring twice. Steven Okert (San Francisco) pitched a perfect perfect inning, striking out all three batters he faced.
Salt River: Joe Sclafani (Houston) was 2-for-3 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in two. Ryan Casteel (Colorado) was 2-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one. Christian Bergman (Colorado) pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits and no walks with four strikeouts.
The game: Salt River went up 2-0 in the second and never led by less than two again. It was 4-1 when Salt River scored four runs in the eighth on five singles and an error to put the game out of reach.
GLENDALE 5, MESA 2 IN GLENDALE
Mesa: Jacob Hannemann (Cubs) was 3-for-4 with a double and a run. Eric Stamets (Angels) was 1-for-4 with a homer. Trevor Gott (Angels) pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.
Glendale: Steven Moya (Detroit) was 2-for-3 with a home run (his fifth), a double, and a walk, driving in three. Garabez Rosa (Baltimore) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring three times. Zach Davies (Baltimore) pitched four shutout innings, allowing one hit and no walks with three strikeouts.
The game: Mesa cut the Glendale lead to 2-1 in the top of the sixth, but Glendale took control on Moya's two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth.
PEORIA 10, SURPRISE 4 IN PEORIA
Surprise: Kyle Waldrop (Cincinnati) was 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk, scoring twice. Sean Coyle (Boston) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Brandon Alger (San Diego) pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.
Peoria: Kes Carter (Tampa Bay) was 3-for-5 with a home run (his second) and a triple, scoring twice and driving in five. Francisco Lindor (Clevleand) was 2-for-4 with two home runs (his second and third) and a walk. Ali Williams (Kansas City) pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit with one strikeout.
The game: Peoria scored two in the third to go up 4-2 and put the game away with a six-run sixth. Cody Stanley and Carter each had a two-run triple in the sixth inning.
