Twins: Chris Parmelee was 1-for-5 for Licey.
Licey: Juan Francisco (Toronto) was 2-for-3 with a home run (his third) and three RBIs. Marco Hernandez (Cubs) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two. Mitch Atkins (Atlanta) struck out six in 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk.
Cibao: Moises Sierra (White Sox) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer. Robinzon Diaz (Milwaukee) was 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit two-run homer. Elvin Ramirez (Cincinnati) struck out two in two shutout innings, allowing two hits.
The game: Licey led 3-0 after three, but Sierra hit a two-run homer in the fourth and Diaz hit a two-run homer in the seventh to give Cibao a 4-3 advantage. Licey scored three in the eighth to go into the lead to stay, with Francisco hitting a homer to tie it up, D'Angelo Jimenez' RBI single putting them ahead, and Hernandez driving in two with a double to provide some insurance.
AGUILAS 4, ESTE 3 IN ESTE
Aguilas: Ricardo Nanita was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, his second. Rafael Ynoa (Colorado) was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Frank Batista (Cubs) pitched five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
Este: Tyler Moore (Washington) was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks, scoring once. Matt Hague (Toronto) was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Hector Neris pitched a perfect inning.
The game: Nanita hit his three-run homer in the first and Aguilas led 4-0 after three and a half. Este scored two in the fourth and one in the ninth and had men on second and third in the bottom of the ninth.
ORIENTE 4, ESCOGIDO 1 IN ESCOGIDO
Oriente: Junior Lake (Cubs) was 2-for-3 with a walk, scoring twice. Matt Fields (Kansas City) was 1-for-4 with a home run, his fourth. Scott Copeland (Toronto) pitched four innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks with three strikeouts.
Escogido: Joc Pederson (Dodgers) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run. Claudio Galva struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit.
The game: Oriente scored single runs in the first, second, fourth, and eighth. The lone Escogido run came in the fourth.
