The best thing about moving: Gives one a chance to throw away a bunch of clutter.
The worst thing about moving: Unpacking box after box and tying to find a place for things.
I've lived in the same house for the last 20 years, and the clutter is getting really irritating. I just want to hire a dumpster and start pitching stuff until it's full.
There is your New Years resolution.
We're at the thirteen-year mark and I am really thinking hard about each room, each space. Making better use of rooms and spaces is the biggest thing. I think most people at this point consider if they should upsize their home, and it is tempting. We just love our neighborhood (aside from the drug dealer in our backyard) too much to make a change. So when I started sitting down and thinking about it I really became convinced that we have nearly the right amount of space, especially if we decluttered.
Unfortunately my wife is a shove-it-in-the-closet kind of gal and has an emotional attachment to seemingly every single item that is in our home, whether she just used it yesterday or she hasn't seen it in a decade.
So it's difficult.
When we moved from North Sioux City three and a half years ago, we threw away bag after bag after bag of stuff. Now, we still have way too much stuff. I don't know how it all accumulates, but it does.
Dido, except for the drug dealer part.
Unfortunately, the opposite for us. We've got two rooms empty/closed.
Why do I keep going back to the Wolves?
Why DO you keep going back to the Wolves?
I think its come down to habit.
I mean, I watched about 150 Twins games last year. Maybe I like watching really crappy sports teams.
Yeah, but that's the Twins -- they actually win games.
Happy Solstice, everyone. Hope your naked bonfires were as good as mine.
Too rainy for a naked bonfire.
I got one of those Blade-Runner-style transparent raincoats and had moon boots on.
Don't want to get hypothermia.
Transparent raincoats weird me out in the worst way for some reason.
You looked so quiet and unassuming this morning. I never would have guessed!
You may have already seen this, but Doug Mientkiewicz will manage at AA Chattanooga in 2015.
I saw that in the report about Mike Quade
Chattanooga? When did I miss that coming under the Twins' umbrella?
Shortly after the season. They're in Chattanooga instead of New Britain this year.
I like how that article emphasized Quade's experience leading a losing club. Seems he already knows all about the Twins Way.
