PAWTUCKET 8, ROCHESTER 7 IN PAWTUCKET
Batting stars: Josmil Pinto was 2-for-2 with three walks, scoring once and driving in one. Reynaldo Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Jose Martinez was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Pitching stars: None.
Opposition stars: Bryce Brentz was 3-for-4 with a home run (his second), a double, and a walk, scoring three times and driving in one. Blake Swihart was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in three. MIchael Celestino struck out three in three shutout innings, allowing three hits and three walks.
The game: Two bases-loaded walks, a sacrifice fly, and a double steal of second and home produced four Red Wings runs in the fifth, breaking a 3-3 tie and giving the Wings a 7-3 lead. Pawtucket came back with two in the sixth on back-to-back homers by Deven Marrero and Sean Coyle and tied it in the seventh on a two-run double by Blake Swihart. The Red Wings had left the bases loaded in the sixth and left men on second and third in the seventh. In the ninth, Brentz hit a walkoff homer with one out.
Of note: Eddie Rosario was 2-for-5. Danny Ortiz was 0-for-3 with two walks, scoring once and driving in one. Starter Taylor Rogers struck out seven in six innings, but gave up five runs on eight hits and three walks. One gets the impression that he pitched better than his numbers would indicate, but he was hurt by a couple of walks in the fourth and by a pair of gopher balls in the sixth.
BIRMINGHAM AT CHATTANOOGA

TAMPA 7, FORT MYERS 6 (10 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Logan Wade was 2-for-4 with a grand slam. Marcus Knecht was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in one. Niko Goodrum was 1-for-4 with two walks.
Pitching star: Madison Boer pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one walk with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Vicente Conde was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer. Matt Snyder was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Tyler Wade was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.
The game: Conde's three-run homer in the sixth put the Yankees up 6-0. The Miracle made a fine comeback, scoring two in the sixth and tying the score in the eighth on Wade's grand slam. They stranded two more in the eighth and stranded two again in the ninth. In the tenth, a single, two walks, and a balk brought the go-ahead run home for the Yankees.
Of note: Engelb Vielma was 0-for-6. Alex Swim was 0-for-4. Max Kepler was 1-for-5 with a walk and a run. Aderlin Mejia was 0-for-2 with two walks and a run. Starter Aaron Slegers struck out five in 5.2 innings but gave up six runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk.
PEORIA 3, CEDAR RAPIDS 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS
Batting stars: Zach Granite was 3-for-4 with a double and a run. T. J. White was 2-for-3.
Pitching stars: Michael Theofanopolous struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk. C. K. Irby struck out two and walked two in a scoreless inning.
Opposition stars: Steve Bean was 3-for-3 with a walk and a run. Danny Diekroeger was 2-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Austin Gomber struck out eight in seven innings, allowing one run on six hits and no walks.
The game: Granite doubled and scored on a Zack Larson single in the third to give the Kernels a 1-0 lead. It held up until the sixth, when Oscar Mercado hit an RBI triple and scored on Diekroeger's single to put the Chiefs in front. Bean's run-scoring single later in the inning made it 3-1. Twelve consecutive Kernels were retired until Max Murphy hit a two-out triple in the ninth. A strikeout ended the game.
Of note: Nick Gordon was 0-for-4. Larson was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Trey Vavra was 0-for-4. Murphy was 1-for-4 with a triple. Starter John Curtiss struck out six in six innings, giving up three runs on ten hits and a walk.
