April 24, 2015: Smokeless

Twelve years of not smoking for this cat. Cravings are long gone, and it doesn't even seem like I was the guy who did it for nine years; it kind of feels like a long, meandering movie I saw.

      1. He hit Abreu accidentally and then Sale hit Moose accidentally and then Ventura remembered that he's been a total buffoon all season.

        1. Although the main part of the skirmish traces back to Samardzjia hitting Cain on Opening Day.

          1. Seems it also traces back to the Royals trying to make sure that nobody likes them this year, which is good because let's not forget David Glass.

        2. "a clown and should be suspended"
          "total buffoon"
          "nobody likes them"
You guys realize you're agreeing with Hawk Harrelson?

  1. If you are a fan of NBA basketball and did not stick around for the 4th quarter of last night's Warriors/Pelicans game, I'm so sorry for you.

    1. Also be sorry for me, because I am a fan of NBA basketball and have not been able to watch any game that isn't on ESPN because I have no cable.

      1. we had a several-year period last decade during which we were paying only for the local channels. That was a dark, dark time. You have my sympathies. #firstworldproblems

        1. Wait, hold on a minute. Just downloaded the Watch TNT app and I see NBA playoffs on the schedule for tomorrow. Now I am optimistic I can watch these playoffs as much as I want.

          1. Forget it, life is still hard. There's no way to stream it on the Roku so I have to watch on an iPad, at best.

            1. Sling tv is 21 per month and includes tbs, tnt, espn, espn 2, etc.

Not a fan of pirates. I didn't even like the Johnny Depp movies!

          2. If you don't mind wearing an eye-patch, this has proven to be a godsend for this hoop junkie.

And Steph's 4th Q heroics were insane. (Actually, Green as responsible as any for that comeback. He owned the glass in the final period.) Any other team I probably would have shut it off for, but the GSers are not any other team.

            1. The game tomorrow is on ESPN, so once the kids get their fill of Curious George, I can watch it on a big screen.

Though considering I'm not being totally honest with ESPN's app, I have no problem with eye patches when it comes to cable.

              1. If you're using an apple product to dishonestly get cable, would we call that an iPatch?

                  1. He already got one this week! Or recently. Sean made it for the "matt(e)s are great" joak. I couldn't find it.

            2. I have been massively sleep deprived so I had to go to bed. I got 9 hours last night, which was great, but man I missed out.

              1. Also sleep deprived. Hip and knee soreness are waking me up several times a night. Finally found a pillow arrangement that allowed me to sleep almost straight through. This is getting old (literally)

                1. fwiw, I have a long pillow that I position between my legs from knees to feet, and generally sleep on my side (Because Back Problems). Contour pillow under the head to keep my neck mostly aligned, arm wrapped around another pillow to keep my shoulder aligned. Fwiw.

                  1. I'm a lot younger than you all. It's just general anxiety that prevents sleep, not any physical ailments. [Also, no football.]

                  2. I have a contour neck pillow, and currently using the pillow between knees/feet so I can sleep on my side. I don't have (as much) problems sleeping on my back currently.

                    [Also, not due to football]

                    1. I also have a contour neck pillow, but I never get to use it and ususally end up sleeping on the couch because both kids sleep in our bed, leaving no room for me.

                  3. I sleep on my side (and use a long body pillow, which is wonderful), because I snore badly when I sleep on my back (my sleep apnea-addled friend says that it's likely that I have it, as well) and Linds smacks me if I find myself on my back. Because of that, I rarely sleep the night straight through.
