FMD: TNG Minne-caucus

I could write something short about music here and make a separate post.
Or I could just write this here.

Tomorrow, 5/9/2015.
Castle Heights playground in Columbia Park.
As early as 9:30, lasting as late as Noon.
Sounds like rpz, Pepper, and I and our kids will be there. EAR, too. The earliest I'll be there is 10:30.
I'll bring a cribbage board and deck of cards so rpz and I can get round 2 done in person.

    *Notes:
    2. This is such a good album, a definite peak in the mountain range that is his career. It's been downhill since then, but I can't say I've given up on him like I have Björk. He's wandering around in a valley, resting, feeling things out, trying to figure out if he wants to climb again or just build a cabin there.
    4. Performed by Theatre of Voices, Directed by Paul Hillier.
    5. Saw this on some year-end lists. I don't think I'm getting it.
    7. I need to remember to get her album-length collaboration with Colin Stetson, Never Were the Way She Was. Here is a sample.
    T. If re-pressed, this would probably be titled the "Pan Sonic Remix". The title is both onomatopoeic and an abbreviation for "New No New Age Advanced Ambient Motor Music Machine"

    1. Quality Beck track there off a Quality Beck album.
Dang kids today don't appreciate how back in my day if you wanted to hear music, someone had to think ahead and record it on a four-track tapes. Probably in an alley.
Also, music was just people talking. We didn't have modern "conveniences" like "instruments" or "singing".
Just record someone talking in the alley, cut up the magnetic tape and piece it back together with masking tape (today's spoilt kids and their "Scotch tape"-- hardly! It's not covered in sausage and deep-fried, is it?).
Then you bring your tapes to a Music House and they'd decide if they wanted to give you a million dollars or not. Usually not. I figured my tape was just too thick for them to even listen to . . . It had Brad talking about how his parents never let him do anything fun on it! And his little brother Mike was in the background whining about how he wanted to go home.
We used to listen to that tape all the time but the Music House never gave it back. I probably should have made a copy before I put the tape in the mail.

      1. I requested the song on the Youtubes just now and after it was over, they decided to play the album "The Best of Beck".
Color me surprised that "8.6.82" was not on it.
I guess they couldn't get the rights back from Flipside.

    10. Can We Find a Reason? – Lenny Kravitz

    B. Waiting for My Ruca - Sublime

*Whenever songs like this pop up, it makes me reconsider my “no purge” stance.

    1. I've gone through my iTunes and scrubbed all the cuss words from the titles. Because the kids go through it for their music (EAR's music).
      So they're F--- Buttons. That's all I can recall.
