Apologies for the late post. Working on the last honey-do list before Tuesday, when the little one makes his debut.
Best of luck to you and Linds!
I don't know that this is a criticism, exactly, but with Hicks out for the day, wouldn't it have made sense for Hunter to not drop his appeal yet, so the Twins would at least have two bench players?
Well, we found out what it takes to get a non-veteran in the top half of the lineup. And it pays off!
I don't know if we can come back from this kind of a deficit.
I guess we can!
As glad to have that prove wrong as I am surprised.
runs!
Looks like I got here just in time!
Thats got to be a double for Mauer, right?
Rosario does have problems getting lazy at times.
Again, this is why you don't play infielders in the outfield.
Things are not looking good.
For how many times this has proven to be problematic, I'm a little surprised nothing's been done about it.
That was supposed to go under your "stop putting infielders in the outfield" comment, but I suppose it works here, too.
Pelf hasn't been lights out, but he also is paying the price of Twins (lack of) defense
And his own (lack of) defense
And now his pitching.
And now his "relief"
Whelp. Off to my niece's baptism.
Can I come with? *grasping at straws*
I don't think I'm going to be too disappointed about having to miss the end of this game.
We need it to start pouring quickly.
Well, that was our last hope.
How can the Twins have an 8 run inning comeback if the game gets rained out?
So apparently the mirrors were just focusing the sun and the smoke might be fire now.
HAPPY BUXTON DAY
Phil Miller @MillerStrib
Byron Buxton, Twins' top prospect in years, has been called up to the majors. He'll join the Twins for his debut Sunday in Arlington.
w00t!!!!1111one1111!!!!!
Whoa. Can't say I really agree but it'll be fun to watch.
last 28 days: 333/414/531 with 21:14 K:BB in 111 PA. And 10:1 SB:CS.
I suppose there is the chance that he will be overwhelmed by the jump and suffer a setback. There's also the chance that he is The One.
Mike Trout only played 20 games at AAA before coming up for good at age 20. But he also got a call-up at age 19 for a 40-game stint (hitting 220/281/390). He started the next year at AAA and tore it up before the call-up, where he tore it up again.
If you are gonna be great, you are gonna be great.
Mauer went from AA (73 games) to MLB and hit .308/.369/.570/.939 at 21. Hicks went from AA (129 games) to MLB at 23 and we know how well that worked. Hicks never ranked that high on the prospect lists however. Buxton has 60 games at AA so he's not that much lower than Mauer, but Mauer didn't lose most of the previous season because of injury.
No, he lost most of his debut season
Vargas also came up from AA at age 23.
In other words, the Twins need to get Sano up ASAP.
This is what I was coming here to post. Woo!

This is a winner.
STL leads KC 3-2 in the top of the 8th (KC at bat).
I actually stopped paying attention to the Twins game because BBC America is showing a quality Star Trek TNG episode. I didnt realize it was in a rain delay.
ITS HAPPENING
the greatest comeback ever ended at 4 runs.
Bit of a fight left in them out appears
Inspired by Buxton's promotion, obviously.
leadership!
Mike Berardino @MikeBerardino
Hunter came in feeling ill this morning after a "rough night," Molitor said. So decision was made to drop appeal and start suspension.
Those flu-like symptoms come on so quick.
Bottle Flu?
If the lackadaisical play in the outfield in this game is what it took to get Bux promoted, then I guess it sad worth it.
