    1. Three we'll hit balls resulted in no runs. A should be double play resulted in two. I think that's a wash.

  1. Highlight occurred before the game:

Before the game today, they had a "Family Feud" contest between a Cubs family and a Twins family. To be fair, the Cubs family was from Iowa, so they were already working at a severe disadvantage. They were asked to name six "retired Twins greats." They got Puckett, but couldn't name anyone else. The Twins family stole it by naming Killebrew.

Then, the Twins family was asked to name six "retired Cubs greats." They got Banks, Billy Williams, Sandberg, and Santo. The Cubs family tried to steal it with Mark Grace, but he was not one of the final two answers (they were Fergie Jenkins and Greg Maddux). Grace was definitely a perfectly good answer, but oh well.

Anyway, because the Twins family won both rounds, the PA guy gave the Cubs family a parting consolation prize. He provided them with a framed Yadier Molina photograph. The reaction was hilarious.

    1. During the Twins' first interleague visit to StL, I was picked out of the crowd to be on the scoreboard between innings to score a play. It happened to be a 5-4-3-2 triple play (I think the guy on third broke late for home; it's a blur now), which was easy enough, but it was multiple choice, and the guy with the mic (held down during the play) called the play as it was happening, too! I won a nice Fredbird shirt. I asked him before the camera went live if it was an issue that I was dressed in my Twins jersey shirt, and he said heck no -- but they'd had a Cubs fan at an earlier game, and when he got the play wrong (I'm sure he got no help), he was drowned in silly string. They don't put up with the Cubs well here. πŸ˜‰

  2. Plouffe is the best.

    1. I commented to Sheenie that I had never seen a runner caught off second base twice in one game, let alone in three innings. When it happened again, I was beyond flabbergasted.
