I announced this at work, so I thought I'd share with y'all here too: The PunMan clan's getting bigger. #6 expected in April.
Congrats!!!!
You're two exclamation points short!!!!!! 😉
(Also: congrats, punman.)
Hey-oh!
No joke? Congrats!
Congratulations!
Congrats!
Awesome! Congratulations!
Yay! At this point the kids just raise each other, right?
Yep, pretty much. When we announced #5 to the kids, #2 (who was 8 at the time) was giddy with excitement at the thought of helping take care of the new baby. This time #3 (who's 7) was the one giddy with excitement.
My brother has seven kids. I think he'd tell you this is not true.
I've been quietly enjoying the conversation--you're all such smart cookies that I just couldn't think of anything more to add to it!
Speaking of me and donuts, this Sunday I'll be continuing my annual tradition of watching the TC Marathon while eating donuts. I'll be at Harriet and the Parkway if anyone wants to stop by for a donut.
I watched the Austin Marathon from my friend's place while consuming beer-mosas. That was fun.
I should be free Sunday, now that I think of it...
Oooh, our place is about 3 blocks from the 22.5 mile marker. Might roll on down there with a cooler and set up shop.
What boggles my mind is that I could not fathom running from my apartment to downtown. To think someone is going to do that after having previously run 22+ miles is just insane.
I walked down to the coffee cart and got a couple of doughnuts.
It was a wise decision.
I went ahead and killed the day-old donut holes in the break area (brought 'em yesterday for a coworker's birthday).
I agree with Z, it was a wise decision.
I got too busy dealing with a guy in custardy for me to go get a bismark.
I'm not too picky. And I'm also not too conformist with names since I'll call Bavarian cream vanilla custard anyway. They're all good. Just put them in my mouth.
I had a bear claw sitting on my desk from yesterday, when I had taken one, but got busy and wasn't able to actually eat the thing.
It was absolutely delicious.
I seriously hate each and every one of you.
/Except you, you're cool.
Bear claws are cool.
Nicely turned Rhu.
Staying home sick today. I blame it on the doughnut (or "donut") I had at the office yesterday.
Sitting here eating leftovers for lunch, thinking about how annoyed I was that, other than me, no-one in my family was all that into this when it was fresh. Silly in retrospect ... means I get to eat it now!
Baked chipotle lime chicken breast on a bed of Spanish rice w/ quinoa, shredded Mexican cheese, fresh steamed broccoli and a side of corn & black bean salsa.
I'm feeling good about tonight's game, knowing that the Twins are going to unleash their secret weapon: not starting Big Pelf.
Since January 1. Today is the 274th day of the year. Every day. Every. Day. And then some.
There was an eight day stretch in April where there wasn't any mass shootings!
It is sickening to think about.
I will never forget the feelings I had as news from the Newtown massacre exploded across this country. I was shaken to my core. How could this happen? We have to do something! THIS HAS TO BE THE TIPPING POINT.
Uh, no.
I honestly can't imagine how hard that must have hit. The Navy Yard shooting was the thing that hit hardest for me, but that barely even compares emotionally.
What a waste.
Resignation in an unfortunately apt response ... I don't even register shock or disbelief anymore.
I don't know much about this latest event, but this issue is something I've really been increasingly struggling with lately with regard my personal philosophy/morals. So yeah.
Yep, until people learn to stop resorting to violence, this will keep on happening.
A coworker told me his family makes "thankful butter" at Thanksgiving. They pass the jar around. When it comes to you, you shake while saying a thing you are thankful for. When there is butter, you can stop.
I'm using this idea.
Because butter.
I've done that a few times. (Only once was it because I was out of butter but not cream.)
I would do that more if cream wasn't so damned expensive.
You probably know, but if you make it up to Duluth Fitger's has one of the best Veg burgers I've ever had and I don't even like wild rice all that much outside of soup or hotdish. I got the poutine (beef) burger and the wife got the wild rice burger, but we both decided a poutine/wild rice burger is what we'd order the next time we get up there.
Also sidenote: how did they get brewhouse.net? AOL win.
I didn't know about Fitger's--thanks so much for passing that along!
No problem. The wild rice burger pattie[y?] was far superior.
I may have mentioned this on the Bookface, but we had veggie burgers recently for dinner...fried in bacon fat and topped with strips of bacon. Mmmmm.
(actually, the veggie burgers I get from Costco are really good: Don Lee Farms; but Bacon!)
Oh, the brewhouse . . . let me count the ways. I truly miss duluth every day (less now that we live in the big easy, but still a just a little bit), and the brewhouse I totes miss fo sho.

I don't know if I should even invite you hooligans for what you put me through ^up there, or if you all owe me one for the torture 🙂
Aww man. In my neighborhood and I am in nd.
Bummer. Maybe this Spring then?
Because I'm not too proud to share, wife sent me this exchange the children had this morning. I found it amusing.
Girl (6): "I hate school, its so boring! I'M NOT GOING ANYMORE AND THATS FINAL!"
Boy (9): "Lena, you have to go to school. Its the law. If you don't go to school after like, a month or something, the police would take mom and dad to jail and find us new parents, and THOSE parents would make us go to school too. They might even be crazier than mom and dad are too, so, you better just shut it and get on the bus."
Sounds like he was listening to me talk about work.
didn't see a game log so I threw one up. As opposed to throwing up, which I've avoided so far today.

My brother has seven kids. I think he'd tell you this is not true.
SEVEN!? What kinda freak is he?
Oh my, I laughed at this.
He's Superman.
Congrats! I remember when our families were the same size.
I don't have any plans of catching up to you.
Awesome! Congrats to you and the family.
You'll be able to use a rotation now for your basketball team. Including you and the missus, you only need one more for a baseball team.
Mazel tov!
Great. Now I want a donut (doughnut?).
Also, I love how the feature image has both a very large glazed donut and a used packet of Sweet'N Low...
Doughnut if you're feeling like a stickler.
It's almost as if somebody decided to coordinate the CoC image with today's video. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, though!
No, I'm feeling like a bear claw - never had a stickler before.
that's one of the cruller jokes I've heard recently.
Jeez, you don't sugar-coat it, do you?
Can't fritter away an opportunity like that...
I donut prefer the old-fashioned spelling.
I keep seeing these signs for a magical pastry place, but somehow I never get there.
I often see that sign paired with twisted road markers. You know, those S-cones...
After this conversation, it is taking an awful lot of willpower for me to resist our local bakery (which is amazing) this morning...
Maybe you should seek some help from the Pirate. I hear he has a lot of Willpower.
I hate all of you.
[grumpycat.jpg]
I agree. These joaks are all half-bakeryed.
My favorite kind!
I see they got a rise out of some people.
There are a hole lot of puns in this thread.
My eyes sure glazed over reading them all.
I can't believe we've made all these baked good references and haven't managed to summon Pepper.
Just what we kneaded today.
I've been quietly enjoying the conversation--you're all such smart cookies that I just couldn't think of anything more to add to it!

Dammit, Novak.
This checks out.
I had a bear claw sitting on my desk from yesterday, when I had taken one, but got busy and wasn't able to actually eat the thing.

Is that a new kind of doughnut?
hopefully the Indians' run total, yes
I am resigned to the fact that these kind of shootings will continue unabated for the foreseeable future.
According to the Washington Post, there have been 294 mass shootings (four or more people killed or injured by gunfire) in the US since when?
There was an eight day stretch in April where there wasn't any mass shootings!
It is sickening to think about.
I will never forget the feelings I had as news from the Newtown massacre exploded across this country. I was shaken to my core. How could this happen? We have to do something! THIS HAS TO BE THE TIPPING POINT.

Yep, until people learn to stop resorting to violence, this will keep on happening.
Yep, just nothing that can be done about it.
I think this article is brilliant and one of the best things The Onion has ever published.
I really wish it didn't ring so damn true.
I did this today, but with fresh cream rather than letting it sit for 12 hours as he recommends. Still really good.

His amount of butter game is on point.
To say nothing of his beard game.
That is really neat.
