  1. I announced this at work, so I thought I'd share with y'all here too: The PunMan clan's getting bigger. #6 expected in April.

      1. Yep, pretty much. When we announced #5 to the kids, #2 (who was 8 at the time) was giddy with excitement at the thought of helping take care of the new baby. This time #3 (who's 7) was the one giddy with excitement.

      2. My brother has seven kids. I think he'd tell you this is not true.

    1. Congrats! I remember when our families were the same size.
I don't have any plans of catching up to you.

  2. Great. Now I want a donut (doughnut?).

Also, I love how the feature image has both a very large glazed donut and a used packet of Sweet'N Low...

    1. Doughnut if you're feeling like a stickler.

It's almost as if somebody decided to coordinate the CoC image with today's video. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, though!

    2. After this conversation, it is taking an awful lot of willpower for me to resist our local bakery (which is amazing) this morning...

                    1. I've been quietly enjoying the conversation--you're all such smart cookies that I just couldn't think of anything more to add to it!

        1. Speaking of me and donuts, this Sunday I'll be continuing my annual tradition of watching the TC Marathon while eating donuts. I'll be at Harriet and the Parkway if anyone wants to stop by for a donut.

          1. I watched the Austin Marathon from my friend's place while consuming beer-mosas. That was fun.

I should be free Sunday, now that I think of it...

            1. Oooh, our place is about 3 blocks from the 22.5 mile marker. Might roll on down there with a cooler and set up shop.

What boggles my mind is that I could not fathom running from my apartment to downtown. To think someone is going to do that after having previously run 22+ miles is just insane.

        1. I went ahead and killed the day-old donut holes in the break area (brought 'em yesterday for a coworker's birthday).
I agree with Z, it was a wise decision.

        2. I had a bear claw sitting on my desk from yesterday, when I had taken one, but got busy and wasn't able to actually eat the thing.

          It was absolutely delicious.

  3. Staying home sick today. I blame it on the doughnut (or "donut") I had at the office yesterday.

  4. Sitting here eating leftovers for lunch, thinking about how annoyed I was that, other than me, no-one in my family was all that into this when it was fresh. Silly in retrospect ... means I get to eat it now!

Baked chipotle lime chicken breast on a bed of Spanish rice w/ quinoa, shredded Mexican cheese, fresh steamed broccoli and a side of corn & black bean salsa.

      1. According to the Washington Post, there have been 294 mass shootings (four or more people killed or injured by gunfire) in the US since when?

          1. I will never forget the feelings I had as news from the Newtown massacre exploded across this country. I was shaken to my core. How could this happen? We have to do something! THIS HAS TO BE THE TIPPING POINT.

            Uh, no.

            1. I honestly can't imagine how hard that must have hit. The Navy Yard shooting was the thing that hit hardest for me, but that barely even compares emotionally.

    1. What a waste.
Resignation in an unfortunately apt response ... I don't even register shock or disbelief anymore.

    2. It is so sad.

    3. Yep, until people learn to stop resorting to violence, this will keep on happening.

      1. I think this article is brilliant and one of the best things The Onion has ever published.

I really wish it didn't ring so damn true.

    1. A coworker told me his family makes "thankful butter" at Thanksgiving. They pass the jar around. When it comes to you, you shake while saying a thing you are thankful for. When there is butter, you can stop.

    2. I've done that a few times. (Only once was it because I was out of butter but not cream.)
I would do that more if cream wasn't so damned expensive.

You probably know, but if you make it up to Duluth Fitger's has one of the best Veg burgers I've ever had and I don't even like wild rice all that much outside of soup or hotdish. I got the poutine (beef) burger and the wife got the wild rice burger, but we both decided a poutine/wild rice burger is what we'd order the next time we get up there.

Also sidenote: how did they get brewhouse.net? AOL win.

      1. I may have mentioned this on the Bookface, but we had veggie burgers recently for dinner...fried in bacon fat and topped with strips of bacon. Mmmmm.

(actually, the veggie burgers I get from Costco are really good: Don Lee Farms; but Bacon!)

      2. Oh, the brewhouse . . . let me count the ways. I truly miss duluth every day (less now that we live in the big easy, but still a just a little bit), and the brewhouse I totes miss fo sho.

  6. Rugby this Saturday morning

I don't know if I should even invite you hooligans for what you put me through ^up there, or if you all owe me one for the torture 🙂

  7. Because I'm not too proud to share, wife sent me this exchange the children had this morning. I found it amusing.

Girl (6): "I hate school, its so boring! I'M NOT GOING ANYMORE AND THATS FINAL!"
Boy (9): "Lena, you have to go to school. Its the law. If you don't go to school after like, a month or something, the police would take mom and dad to jail and find us new parents, and THOSE parents would make us go to school too. They might even be crazier than mom and dad are too, so, you better just shut it and get on the bus."
