How is it Friday already!?
Okay, uh, random music stuff: Does My Morning Jacket sound like Fleet Foxes, or is it the other way around?
This song still really kicks ass.
What album should I get next?
Drop some lists, too.

9. Still loving the Emot. The Trees and Claws EP probably features their four best songs, but I still keep their three albums in rotation as they're all quite good, even if they don't reach such highs.
B. Not sure why, but I needed to hear this song last night. I see now that many of these lyrics have entered my internal list of idioms (ones that I rarely speak though):
"Others Disagree"
"We aren't united any more than you are"
"...Like the whole planet"
"There is no place else to go. The theatre is closed."
"Smash the control images, smash the control machine."
I'd forgotten that there's a tiny little snippet of the "Screaming Slave" remix of Nine Inch Nails' "Happiness in Slavery" in the song.
Be right back... listening to that Joy Formidable song.

Kairon; IRSE!
what do you think of them? You were definitely the main person I had in mind when I brought them up last year.
I really like them. It took me a little bit to find my way into the album, but yeah, I'm glad you rec'd them.
Whaaaaaaaat was that??????
Right? I thought it was pretty cool (if maybe a bit weird).

I saw the Lips during their Transmissions tour on my birthday at First Ave. Must've been all ages cause I was a pup. Was there with a girl named Bethany that I wonder whatever happened to. Sooooooooo many christmas lights.
I know I've said it before here, but I've always wanted to give the Flaming Lips more of a try. I like the "Jelly" song and "Do You Realize". *sigh* Put 'em on the list.
This applies to much of your teenage years, does it not? 😉

$3!?
Got my tix for Joanna Newsom at the Fitzgerald.
That ticket is... not $3. "Best Available" seats at the Chicago Theatre were a chunk of change (with an extra TM gouge on top), and were in "Row A". That doesn't sound bad, I thought.
Row A is over half way up the main floor.
Yeah, 47 bones w/ nonsense charge. 4th row center balcony. Not ideal, but I'm told there aren't really any bad seats at the Fitz. I guess we'll find out.
You'll love 4th row center balcony at the Fitz unless Kareem is sitting in front of you.
Just got approval to see Mitski on November 19. AMR, consider this your weekly(ish) reminder about that concert.
Fleet Foxes don't sound like MMJ ... or vice versa.
the one album I have does.
Fleet Foxes sound like CSN. Early MMJ sounds like Neil.
contemplating...
