Booo games being on the MLB channel. I dont get that one.
I don't get it, either. Local cable system claims it costs too much to add it.
Boo to games on fox sports being suddenly unavailable to me. I had been able to watch so I don't know what changed.
football happened, probably.
No it isn't that. I'll trying to stream it on the iPad, but it's suddenly telling me I don't have the channel. I tried with my dad's Comcast login and my brother's DirecTV login.
Carlos Gomez on crowd: "Unbelievable. Looked like orange everywhere. I wanted to eat it." #Astros
Now I wonder if this is also a sign they will be changing/clarifying the rules.
I imagine that is the case. Either changing or strictly enforcing the rules already on the books.
Torre interviewed by Rosenthal just now and Torre said they are going to experiment with it in the Fall League. Seems unlikely to have something other than clarifications in place for 2016 but I would be surprised if there isn't a rule change by 2017.
It's two more than I expected, too, mainly because it pretty much says the umpires blew it.
ROBO-UMPS NOW!
Harold Reynolds everybody!
"Not a lot of people grew up playing baseball in Canada you're not used to catching a lot of balls in the stands." Harold Reynolds
There seems to be ample evidence that former players are not the best choice for analysts, and yet, here we are.
When ESPN had, gasp!, a woman as an analyst, there was a very loud noise from some corners that the only people who were qualified were former players. Of course, those folks suffer as a group from dry mouth seeing as how aspiration is strictly an oral exercise for them.

noun
1.
a hope or ambition of achieving something.
"he had nothing tangible to back up his literary aspirations"
synonyms: desire, hope, dream, wish, longing, yearning; More
2.
MEDICINE
the action or process of drawing breath.

Technically you are correct, it is either. But I'm thinking that was not exactly what you were trying to say.
And actually, respiration is a little too broad, because it includes the transport of oxygen to the cells rather than just breathing.
Breathing (which in organisms with lungs is called ventilation and includes inhalation and exhalation) is a part of physiologic respiration. Thus, in precise usage, the words breathing and ventilation are hyponyms, not synonyms, of respiration; but this prescription is not consistently followed, even by most health care providers, because the term respiratory rate (RR) is a well-established term in health care, even though it would need to be consistently replaced with ventilation rate if the precise usage were to be followed.
Sorry to be so pedantic. π π π
The blue jays radio guys just let me know that Larry walker disagrees.
I won 7 gold gloves. I think part of winning them was cause I could catch. π
It sure is. Hearing a broadcast professional say it live was amazing.
The ol 3-2-3 double play.
Tulo!
Quite the swing from a 3-2-3 double play to a three-run homer.
Heh, just heard an ad fur curling and I was surprised. Then I remembered that I was listening to Canadian radio.
Does anyone remember why the Twins got rid of RA Dickey? Was it a mutual decision ?
I think he was only in Minnesota for the one season (09) and they just didn't bring him back after it was up. He signed minor league contracts both with the Twins and the Mets in 2010. He was never all that great before his time in NY.
Also the first time he pitched in the NL. He's done okay in Toronto but nothing like with the Mets.
Yeah, maybe thats what it was. I just remember Gardy was really excited about Dickey because he wanted a knuckleballer in the Metrodome.
4.91 xFIP is plenty good reason not to keep around a 35-yo pitcher. He went to Mets and his ground ball rate jumped up and his walk rate was cut in half in 2010. In 2012, his K rate went from under 6 to almost 9 the year he won the Cy Young. The next two years, it was back to about 7, and this year is down to just over 5.

I so miss that guy.
Someday announcers will stop referring to balls that bounce out of play as groundrule doubles. They're rule book doubles.
I would also accept automatic double.
Groundrule Double

It's been called a "ground rule double" ever since I was a little kid, maybe before that. I doubt it'll ever change.
Im surprised Perez is still pitching after that bases loaded walk
Chase Utley suspended two games, which is two more than I thought he was going to get.
