Apparently, the Royals thought they were coming back. Yost used Herrera when trailing by four runs. Huh? That was dumb. He pitched in Game 4 as well. You need to save him for at least a close game, especially when you already lead the series.
They were down two when he came in and they needed a strikeout pitcher with the bases loaded.
Day off today allowed Yost to be aggressive with his bullpen

We got to the Cubbies part in BTTF2 right about when the second home run was flying out.
Cursed by a goat, a fan, and now a movie.
I wonder if this will spawn a million more movies that will try to predict when the cubs will stop being sad sacks.
I don't know why JI JIM is up there, but I like it.
Maybe JI JIM is Daniel Murphy in disguise. Unreal.
If someone wants to make post season banners, I'll throw them up. otherwise, its going to be random pictures found on the sites library. (I was going to throw on a Delmon Young photo, but couldnt find one)
I love watching the crowd. lots of "OOOOOH" some people still not registering what happened, and some fan leaving their seat during the middle of a pitch.
triple word score!
Might have missed it, but do we know why they keep on with the "Wright's the longest tenured player with one team" nonsense?
Most games played
Has to be, although I guess "tenure" means different things to different people.
Huh ... so when the graphic "Player X is the longest-tenured active player with one team" pops up during a broadcast, I guess I'm meant to understand it means that player is:
a) Active
b) Has only played for one team
c) Has played with that team for the longest duration of any currently active player
-and-
d) Has accumulated the most games played with that one team over that duration of any active player.
I'll admit that this is unimportant nit-picking, and it only bothers me because I'm a homer & feel like Mauer is getting short shrift. I guess Yadier Molina is too, but still...
Things that do not count as part of "tenure":
1. Time missed due to made up injuries
2. Time in which a p#$$! singles hitter steals money from the team
3. Grit-less time
Also, I know a longest tenured active player with one team when I see one, and if I don't feel it in my gut it doesn't count.
Good points ... must have overlooked 'em.
Don't forget: when a p@#$^&$ singles hitter changes positions, it's like having a totally different player.
Man, Cubs get eliminated on Back to the Future day. Poetic
Is a 6 run lead safe enough for the Jays bullpen?
Yes

Daniel Murphy is magical.
Dingers Murphy.
This is a good gif.
