In the offseason he should go for the World Series of Poker.
Mets get a bit lucky with Cespedes called safe on a potential inning-ending double play and then Murphy scores on the next play.
Alcides Escobar being asked to sac bunt again. Ned Yost will never learn.
goes 0-2 and has to swing away. RBI single. *shakes head*
Ned Yost is a strong reason for me preferring the Mets here.
I saw on Deadspin (I think?) that Escobar called the bunt yesterday himself, not Yost.
Yes, there was an article in the NY Times Sunday mag a few weeks ago about Yost. It pointed out that Escobar, Cain, Dyson, et al. mostly bunt and steal on their own.
Sam Miller argued today on Effectively Wild that this argument makes Yost looks worse, implying he is so hands-off he can't even tell his players not to bunt.
I, for one, applaud his "free-range" managing style.
Also: can't argue too much with success.
I thought the complaint was about Cain bunting yesterday.
Escobar is not so good a batter, not as bad a decision.
You're right, I got my bunts confused. The Deadspin article was about Cain.
According to the on screen graphic, Michael Conforto was destined to be in the MLB World Series. He participated in the 2004 LLWS and 2013 CWS.
The list of players making either the LLWS and WS or CWS and WS has to be pretty short.
The list is now three people.

Royals doing their Royal thing this inning.
Doink, doink, doink, it's 4-1 Royals.
I just realized Rios has the same batting stance as Debro from the Hawaii team in Bases Loaded.
Should've emulated Paste, instead.
Hi, everybody!
Former "Twin" Sean Gilmartin warming up in the pen for the Mets. They converted him to a reliever and he did well this year.
Welp....
