The pie is gone. The stuffing is gone. The sweet potatoes, gone. Today will see the last of the mashed potatoes and turkey.

Oh hot dang, I have a "legit" track for my best of 2015 post now.
Had a nice Thanksgiving weekend with the Omaha part of the family, the highlight of which was going through a bin of pictures/documents that was cleaned out of my grandmother's house after she passed away a few years ago.
The biggest find were letters - the first a series exchanged between my great grandfather (who was on duty in San Antonio and later in France) and his family in Nebraska. The letters are in good shape and date between January 1918 and Fall 1919. Pretty excited to look at those a little bit closer.
Also some letters that my grandfather sent to my grandmother in the 60's after he left her to raise their five kids on her own. Lots of family history in those letters.
Very cool to find those. A few years back, after my mom's folks had passed, a cache of their correspondence from before and during the 2nd World War was put into albums in chronological order. He was in the Merchant Marine, stationed on the East Coast and she was back here in Austin with their first two children. Very fun to see what day to day life was like.
I was also in Omerha and I was given the birth/death certificates for my grandparents, great-grandparents and an uncle because the family has decided that my dabbling in genealogy means I should be the person to hold onto them.
So, didn't we have an exchange recently about the urban dictionary dfn of "Netflix and Chill"?
I just ran across a "sponsored post" on the Bookface. It was a black and white photo of Rob Lowe and George Clooney, sitting side-by-side in easy chairs, highball in hand, with the caption "Netflix and Chill."
Is there something about their relationship that I was not aware of?
I imagine they have a similar fondness for the color green.
It ain't easy.
That'll do pig. ...
Today, Kobe Bryant announced that this is his last season. I thought that was already announced?
If you consider his level of play as an announcement, then yes, he had already announced it.
