Is Suzuki the expected regular? Maybe, but I hope not.
I think so, but I think the plans are for Murphy to get plenty of at bats.
They've already said that Suzuki is the starter and Murphy the backup to start the season.
That's very disappointing. Not surprising, but disappointing.
That's an Opening Day thing, not a season long thing. They didn't trade a starting centerfielder for a backup catcher.
I certainly hope not, anyway.
Suzuki gave up a 37 point deficit in batting average to Murphy last season. Molitor won't give up that kind of offensive advantage for very long if Murphy hits well early on.
Again, I hope you're right.
It was a quiet morning in the Twins’ clubhouse, though not for the soccer fans on the team — and there are several, as it turns out. It’s not uncommon to see players watching basketball or even hockey on the TVs, but this was the fist time I can remember that a Premier League game — Tottenham 2, Arsenal 2 — drew a small crowd.
John Ryan Murphy was the ringleader, mostly because “I jumped on the bandwagon” and became a fan of Tottenham a few years ago. Max Kepler, who grew up playing soccer in Germany, was beside him, and Australian James Beresford was watching too. Some of the Latin American players showed interest, especially when a goal was scored.
Dozier dinger!
FYI, sitting on a beach chair with the ear buds in is an excellent way to take in a ballgame #TakingOneForTheTeam
