  1. Continuing the bath conversation, Kernel does not like showers, but baths (with the hose/sprayer attachment to rinse hair) are fine. Our drama is typically related to combing said hair in the morning. She responds like we're trying to scalp her!
    Screams.
    Bloody.
    Murder.

    Niblet loves bath time.

    1. Our boy hates baths, crazy loves showers, but screams whenever we wash his hair because he hates water getting in his eyes. Thankfully washing out shampoo only takes about 10 seconds and then he's better.

      1. Yep, the hair rinsing part is 99% of our problems with both. For the trinket, a dry washcloth she can put over her eyes helps. For the bauble, we just have to push through the crying. It's frustrating for me because I can so easily understand the logical action of looking up to avoid water in the eyes, but they can't.

        1. My son actually closes his eyes and looks down, but he still opens them up too quickly. I'm not sure how much it actually hurts or if it's mostly fear

          1. Tell him that looking down is the problem... water rolls down his face then. Look up so the top of his head slopes back and the water rolls down the back of his head.

        2. the hair rinsing part is 99%
I've had to step in the shower, pick up the girl, and lift her body up to get her head into the shower stream before. It's not an emergency, so I've got time to empty my pockets, remove socks, roll up pants, etc.
Partly because I can't pull her arm because I'm afraid of another dislocated "nanny's elbow". [I didn't cause either of those, but I know her ligaments are loose.]

            1. We used to use a cup in the bath for the boys. We would have them tip their heads back and pour water over their hair with the cup. It was easier to control than a sprayer or the shower.

    2. I try to avoid coming hair as best I can because I have zero experience with long hair. Plus, I always, apparently, do it wrong according to my wife. (whatever, she's going to bed now anyway.) we do always have some detangling spray on hand, though, which helps.

    1. I don't see how winning a title with the Lakers would have been historic. They've already got a bunch. Winning a title with the Wolves seems like it'd be more historic, especially considering their billion seasons since they've made the playoffs.

            1. I was referring to Berrios, but that's a good point that he isn't in Minnesota right now.

Also, it's the fiery five pepper for new.

    1. It didn't occur to me that he would ever die. Ugh.

At work someone mentioned it over the walkie, a young guy asked who it was and another guy explained that he was an "overrated singer."

Eight o'clock isn't nearly soon enough.

      1. But underrated guitarist, arranger, band leader.
Renaissance-man of pop music. Grabbing the good from several things and putting them together and making them great.
That Super Bowl set is just so much everything, it's a shame he'll never get another chance to distill everything into a 10 minute suite for the whole world to share.

      2. I was always hit-or-miss on his stuff, so I'm not the hugest fan in the world, but to boil his career down to "an overrated singer" is a special kind of ignorant.

        1. I was a punk rocker as a younger man, but prince has always held a special place in my heart. Man, I feel like art has taken such a blow losing bowie and prince. Blarf.

        2. Timing is everything in these matters--even if he believed that Prince was overrated, to say it on the day Prince dies makes him a jerk.

  2. I'm 100% certain I could calculate it in a suboptimal fashion, but could someone give me the odds of not throwing a 1 on a single six-sided die 15 times in a row? I lost a dice game yesterday to a six-year-old who was able to manage just that.

    1. Odds of not throwing a 1: 5/6.
Odds of not doing it n times in a row: (5/6)^n.

If n=15, then the odds are 6.5%.

This all assumes every trial is independent and truly 1/6 chance of getting any of the numbers.

  3. Also, if any of you are near Eagan, PLEASE stop into my store. Nobody else is here. We can BS and listen to speakers we can't afford.

    1. I may be getting tickets to the June 5th game and would be around that weekend, but it sounds like that weekend will be too late for your sanity today.

      1. We'll just have gotten home from Spain. Sturgill is that night. I'd love to meet up, but I'm not sure how I'll be adjusted.

        1. Play it by ear then, eh? It's an afternoon game, and I'm guessing I'll be taking the 6th off instead of driving home after the game.

          1. That sounds good. Remind me closer to the day. We'll probably be up nice and early since we'll be on Spanish time, so maybe brunch?

  4. Former pro wrestler Chyna was found dead today too. Anyone of even moderate fame might want to seek shelter for the rest of the day.
