Game 16: Minnesota at Milwaukee

Remember when we were joakingly discussing the possibility of Minnesota's first win coming against the Brewers because they were the first "obviously inferior" opponent on the schedule? Good times.

A win today salvages a season-split with the Sconnie's and would give the Twins their first road win of the season. It would also get them to 5 wins - the same number of W's as the Astros & Yankees (the other divisions' last-place teams).

R. Nolasco (0-0, 3.21 ERA, 8:2 K:BB, 118 ERA+, 3.25 FIP, 1.000 WHIP - 14 innings)
-v-
T. Jungmann (0-2, 9.00 ERA, 9:4 K:BB, 47 ERA+, 4.81 FIP, 1.615 WHIP - 13 innings)

.500 ball at home and .000 on the road is no way to go through a season - let's break through that barrier fellas!

  1. Counting on Nolasco for a split is a scary proposition, but he's been good thus far. That WHIP, that's crazy good for a starter. That would have led the AL last year.

Yeah, but does anyone really think that Latos is going to break the single season record?

    1. It seems like he's better than "good" at baseball. I wish we had a way of expressing that.

  2. Bummer. Nolasco finishing off the inning would have made the PH next inning easier, although it's not like a relief pitcher can come back and pitch after sitting on the bench ½ inning #ManagerMentality

    1. I sure hope me gets this strike out thing figured out because he seems awfully disruptive when he gets on.

  3. Fun fact: JRM last year hit and struck out at a 1:1 ratio.
This year, it's 2:1. Surely this bodes well.

    1. It would be good if just about anything boded well for his bat in this early part of the season.

  4. I hate day games during the week. i cant watch them because Im at work!

And now FSN is not showing the replay until 8pm instead of 7 like they normally do. Dumb!
