Max Kepler had a two-run triple in a four-run sixth that broke the game open for the Red Wings. Rochester led 2-1 after five. After a slow start, Kepler has a five-game hitting streak going in which he is 8-for-18, raising his average from .170 to .246. Buck Britton was 2-for-3 with a walk and Byron Buxton was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, raising his average to .310. Andrew Albers threw 91 pitches in a complete game, allowing one run on three hits and a walk with six strikeouts.
PENSACOLA 6, CHATTANOOGA 4 IN CHATTANOOGA
Eric Jagielo doubled and scored in the fourth to break a 3-3 tie and the Blue Wahoos never trailed after that. David Hurlbut had another rough outing, giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts. D. J. Hicks was 2-for-4 with a double. Leonardo Reginatto was 1-for-3 with a walk and is now hitting .316.
FORT MYERS 5, BRADENTON 2 IN BRADENTON
A single, a hit batsman, and two walks produced two first-inning runs for the Miracle and Tyler Jay took it from there. Jay pitched seven shutout innings, allowing three hits and one walk with six strikeouts. He has not given up a run in his last two games (13.1 innings), dropping his ERA from a high of 5.12 to 3.03. Chris Paul went 2-for-4 to lead the offense. Nick Gordon returned to the lineup and went 1-for-3, raising his average to .309. Max Murphy hit a home run, his second.
CEDAR RAPIDS 9, KANE COUNTY 0 IN CEDAR RAPIDS
Randy LeBlanc needed just 94 pitches for a complete-game shutout. He allowed four hits and two walks while striking out six. The Kernels scored two in the first and three in the third and were never threatened. Rafael Pastor Valera led the offense by going 3-for-4 with a double and a walk. LaMonte Wade was 2-for-4 to raise his average to .357. Luis Arraez was 2-for-4 with a walk to raise his average to .329.
