TENNESSEE 7, CHATTANOOGA 6 IN TENNESSEE
The Lookouts led 3-0, fell behind 6-3, tied it 6-6, but ultimately lost. A bunt single by Trey Martin in the sixth brought home the go-ahead run. Felix Jorge, making his AA debut, retired the first ten batters, but then gave up five consecutive singles that produced three runs. He also allowed a three-run homer in the fifth and the go-ahead run in the sixth. I don't know why he was left in the game so long, but his line was 5.1 innings, seven runs, ten hits, one walk, and four strikeouts. Ryan Walker was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk. Mitch Garver was 2-for-5 with a double. Niko Goodrum was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .310. Zach Granite was 1-for-5 and is batting .308.
DUNEDIN 5, FORT MYERS 1 IN FORT MYERS
It was scoreless through six, but the Blue Jays put together a four-run seventh, with everything happening after the first two batters were retired, and had control from then on. Miles Nordgren, in his high-A debut, pitched six shutout innings before tiring in the seventh. His line was seven innings, four runs (three earned), five hits, one walk, and two strikeouts. The Miracle had only four hits. LaMonte Wade was 1-for-4 and is batting .343. Daniel Kihle was 1-for-3 with a walk and continues to bat .333. Brad Hartong was 1-for-3 with a double and is batting .308.
CEDAR RAPIDS 4, KANE COUNTY 0 IN CEDAR RAPIDS
With the Kernels leading 2-0, Zander Weil hit a two-run homer (his sixth) in the eighth to put the game out of reach. Eduardo Del Rosario had his first good start in nearly a month, going five shutout innings while allowing four hits and five walks with four strikeouts. Anthony McIver followed with three shutout innings, giving up two hits and one walk with two strikeouts. Luis Arraez was 2-for-3 and is batting .326. Nelson Molina was 2-for-4.
GREENEVILLE 12, ELIZABETHTON 4 IN ELIZABETHTON
It was 3-3 through seven. Troy Sieber homered to put the Astros up 4-3 after eight and an eight-run inning in the ninth put the game out of reach. Jose Martinez pitched five innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts. Johan Quezada had started the season with nine scoreless innings but gave up six of the eight runs in the ninth, raising his ERA from 0.00 to 5.59. Shane Carrier was 2-for-3 with a double to lead the offense. Brandon Lopez was 1-for-4 and is batting .353. Alex Kirilloff was 0-for-4 and is batting .317.
GCL TWINS 4, GCL ORIOLES 2 AT TWINS
The Twins scored two in the first and never trailed. Taylor Clemensia struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks. Onas Farfan pitched a scoreless inning. In ten innings (six games) he has an ERA of 0.90, a WHIP of 0.80, and has thirteen strikeouts with four walks. Jose Miranda was 3-for-4 with a double. Jorge Andrade was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk and is batting .333. Jhon Alvarez made his GCL debut and went 1-for-2.
DSL TWINS 5, DSL GIANTS 2 AT GIANTS
Three walks, two hit batsmen, and an error allowed the Twins to score three runs on one hit in the third and take a 3-1 lead they would never lose. Melvi Acosta pitched six innings and allowed two unearned runs on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts, lowering his ERA to 1.75. Mariano Calcano was 2-for-3. Jorge Parra was 2-for-5 and is batting .359. Victor Tademo was 1-for-4 with a walk and is batting .318. Agustin Marte was 0-for-2 with three walks and is batting .315 (with an OBP of .471). Edgar Herrera was 1-for-1 and is batting .311.
