An excellent game for Stephen Gonsalves. Kudos to the Southern League for not deferring to the major league all-star game.
CHATTANOOGA 4, TENNESSEE 0 IN TENNESSEE
Levi Michael tripled in the first run and scored the second in the third inning. Stephen Gonsalves and two relief pitchers took it from there. Gonsalves struck out eleven in six shutout innings, giving up four hits and no walks. Trevor Hildenberger struck out two in a perfect inning, lowering his ERA to 0.86 and his WHIP to 0.67 with 35 strikeouts and 5 walks in 31.1 innings (26 games). Shannon Wilkerson was 2-for-2 with two walks. Levi Michael was 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk. Leonardo Reginatto was 2-for-4 and is batting .300. Zach Granite was 1-for-5 and is batting .306.
GCL TWINS 6, GCL ORIOLES 4 AT ORIOLES
Four walks, two singles, and a wild pitch enabled the Twins to score four runs in the first and they never trailed. Starter Tyler Fox pitched only three innings, allowing three runs on five hits and no walks with three strikeouts. Moises Gomez pitched three innings and gave up an unearned run, so his ERA remains zero in 9.1 innings this season despite allowing nine hits and five walks. Clark Beeker pitched three perfect innings of relief with one strikeout. Aaron Whitefield was 2-for-3 and is batting .314. Ben Rortvedt was 2-for-4. Jorge Andrade was 1-for-4 with a walk and is batting .318.
DSL MARINERS1 8, DSL TWINS 1 AT TWINS
It was 1-1 through six, but the Mariners1 scored three in the seventh and four in the ninth. Juan Mojica struck out eight in five innings, giving up one run on five hits and no walks. Carlos Suniaga pitched two innings, allowing an unearned run on four hits to lower his ERA to 1.05 with a WHIP of 1.09 and 32 strikeouts (with 8 walks) in 25.2 innings (9 games). Edgar Herrera was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .312. No Twin had more than one hit.
