ROCHESTER 6, NORFOLK 2 IN ROCHESTER
Four singles and an error produced three runs in the third to give the Red Wings a 4-1 lead. Pat Dean struck out seven in five innings, giving up two runs on five hits with no walks. D. J. Baxendale gave up no runs and one hit in two-thirds of an inning, keeping his ERA at zero in 8.1 AAA innings. He has allowed three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts. J. T. Chargois struck out two in two shutout innings to lower his ERA to 1.35 with a WHIP of 0.94 in 26.2 AAA innings. He has walked 5 and struck out 35. Byung Ho Park was 2-for-4 with a home run. Wilfredo Tovar was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Daniel Palka was 0-for-4 and is batting .316.
CHATTANOOGA 3, MOBILE 2 IN CHATTANOOGA
Engelb Vielma singled in the tying run in the seventh and a bases-loaded walk brought home the go-ahead run in the eighth. David Hurlbut struck out six in six innings, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks. Trevor Hildenberger struck out two in another scoreless inning. In 32.1 AA innings, he has an ERA of 0.84, a WHIP of 0.68, and has struck out 37 while walking just 5. Leonardo Reginatto had half of the Lookouts hits, going 3-for-4 with a double to make his average .306. Zach Granite was 0-for-3 with a walk and is batting .308.
TAMPA 13, FORT MYERS 6 IN TAMPA
The Miracle scored three in the top of the first, but the Yankees came back with four in the bottom of the first and scored six in the fourth to put the game out of reach early. Randy Rosario had a rare bad game, lasting only three innings and allowing eight runs (five earned) on nine hits and two walks with one strikeout. Nick Gordon was 3-for-4 with a walk and is batting .302. Over his last eight games, he is 15-for-35 (.429). LaMonte Wade was 2-for-3 and is batting .366 since coming to high-A.
CEDAR RAPIDS 8, LAKE COUNTY 1 IN LAKE COUNTY
Zander Weil hit a three-run homer (his seventh) in a five-run third that put the Kernels in control of the game. Lachlan Wells continues to impress, striking out eight in six shutout innings while giving up just four hits and no walks. In four starts (21.1 innings), Wells has an ERA of 1.27, a WHIP of 1.03, and has struck out 19 while walking four. Luis Arraez was 3-for-5 with a double and is batting .336. Jaylin Davis hit his second homer. Sean Miller and Christian Cavaness were each 2-for-4.
DANVILLE 4, ELIZABETHTON 2 IN DANVILLE
Brandon Lopez hit a two-run double in the top of the fifth to give the Twins a 2-1 lead, but Kevin Josephina's two-run double in the bottom of the fifth put the Braves in the lead to stay. Domenick Carlini pitched five innings, giving up three runs on six hits and no walks with three strikeouts. Patrick McGuff gave up an unearned run, so his professional ERA remains at zero through eight innings (15 strikeouts, 2 walks). Andre Jernigan was 2-for-4 with a double. Lopez was 1-for-4 and is batting .341. Alex Kirilloff was 0-for-4 and is batting .300.
GCL TWINS 2, GCL ORIOLES 1 AT ORIOLES
The Twins scored single runs in the fifth and sixth and held on to win. Miguel De Jesus pitched six shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Joe Cronin was the only Twin with more than one hit, going 2-for-3.
DSL ROJOS 6, DSL TWINS 3 AT ROJOS (7 1/2 INNINGS--RAIN)
Victor Tademo's two-run single tied it 3-3 in the top of the sixth, but Edwin Yon hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to put the Rojos in the lead to stay. Edwar Colina struck out six in five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks. Jorge Parra was 2-for-3 and is batting .366. Tademo was 1-for-3 and is batting .319. Edgar Herrera was 0-for-3, dropping his average to .302.
