Tigers kick off the last home stand of the season. Hector Santiago on the mound. Twins desparately trying to stay below 100 losses. Good luck with that.

Dick n Bert are like "Sure all of Dozier's HRs are nice, but his batting average!!!! omg he needs to hit .300!!!!"
ugh.
I'll never forget the time Dick said that home runs are just kind of random, but that hitting in the clutch is a learned and repeatable skill.
*sound of Harmon rolling over in his grave*
HRs are both clutch and sexy.
It seems like the Twins have been complaining a lot about bad ball and strike calls lately. I don't know if they have a legitimate complaint or if it's just frustration because of all the losing.
It can be two things.
Not too often Miggy Cabrera manufactures a run with his speed
Okay, I will admit that it's pretty annoying when the Twins take an at bat like the one vargas just took. Not because hitting a home run would be anything other than the best possible scenario, but because when the hitter is so obviously aggressive, it's easy for the pitcher to pick him apart.
Dazzle's comments about how Oswaldo Arcia would play on the warning track reminded me of when the Twins put Gene Larkin in right field. He couldn't go back on a ball, so he'd play a step or two in front of the warning track. He couldn't go to his left, so he'd stand at about a forty-five degree angle to home plate. The Twins would sometimes use Pedro Munoz as a "defensive replacement" for him.
I have a feeling the Twins might not win this game. Of course, I had that feeling before the game started.
Every time I hear a John Sterling highlight I'm reminded that, for all the stuff I say about Dazzle, we could do much worse.
Just listen to the TV guys. Dazzle is frustrating, but he's not hopeless
I feel like Provus has forced him to step up his game considerably.
I fully agree with that.
Yup. Part of my muscle memory when firing up the PS3 to watch the game is to flip the audio to the radio guys.
a hit by the locals would be nice.
They already got one. Don't be greedy.
Byron Buxton giving us at least one highlight for tonight.
An amazing catch there by Buxton.
96 losses, now tied for fourth worst. They have five more losses than the Braves, the next closest team.
Well, at least Pat Light won't be available for the night game.
