November 15, 2016: Oh, That Kidder

It's my brother's 37th birthday. Though he's done pretty well in many aspects of life, he jokes a lot, when it comes up: "Oh, don't worry about my schedule. *I* don't have a family."

The thing is, he's really joking. He's not fishing, and he doesn't feel incomplete. I just worry about how long that non-feeling will last.

  1. Back on the mainland. Departed for the Honolulu airport at 0600 local, arrived in Chicago at 2355 local, drove back to the People's Republic, arriving at 0230 local. Now drinking my first of several cups of coffee in my office, wondering why I decided I would be taking appointments today. Let's do this!

  2. Did we ever come up with a tag for those miscellaneous columns? Can we? My nomination is Takef My Advice, but I think we can do better.

              1. I didn't have the energy to Morbotron that just now, otherwise that would have been my response too.

                1. I thought about going full on Morbotron, but lost my motivation before actually doing it. Half-bakef all around!

    1. For me, this was the most encouraging part (regarding Wiggins & Thibodeau's opinion of him):

"And I think he’s just scratching the surface. I think he can do a lot more.”
      How much more?
“I don’t want to put a lid on it,” Thibodeau said. “It’s what he wants it to be. And if he continues to work the way he’s working and preparing and studying and practicing the way he’s practicing, he’ll continue to improve.”

    1. Vikings in another freefall. Gopher football lost and now need help to make their first B1G title game (did anyone really think they had a chance to beat Wisconsin anyways?). So about the only good thing Minnesota sports wise this week is Gophers basketball. Really? All right, they're 2-0 in home games vs. small conference teams, but they at least kind of sort of looked impressive while doing it. Better than last year, at least, which is probably (hopefully) going to be a common refrain next summer.
