“And since Gardy (longtime Twins manager Ron Gardenhire) is working for Arizona now, it sounds like (Kyle) Lohse is on board, too.”
Ugh, every black Friday my wife spends the day sending me pictures of things and every year I have to tell her I can probably find a better deal some other time (because Black Friday deals really aren't that good.)
I hate Black Friday, I hate it very much.
When Black Friday comes
I'm gonna dig myself a hole
Gonna lay down in it 'til
I satisfy my soul
I just decline to participate, and for the last 8 years or so my wife has worked on black Friday (until this year all in retail), so she's not a fan of it either. I do plan to hit the hardware store later to get some window insulator kits for the living room, though.
Leftovers and college football.
Why ruin good leftovers with that?
Hosting Thanksgiving is definitely a pain, but not doing it does mean there is an unfortunate lack of leftovers in my fridge.
My wife is actually in Minneapolis today for a funeral (father of a college roommate). Took a red-eye out of SFO last night.
Also, I am about to turn this crap off. Bring back Bo and his exploding head. Because this is awful defense.

Had the chance to try Surly Darkness last night. That was very very good.
I wonder when it was canned.
I drank my bottle a few weeks ago. I share your assessment.
Never actually had that (or the bourbon barrel from goose issuance or dark lord from FFF), but that's OK because a friend have me a bottle of this, which I had last weekend. It was an experience, and easier to get a hold of.
Excellent autocorrect! Goose issuance. Heh.
Color me intrigued. I'm going to be chasing this style of beer now (at least somewhat), since it was one I never really got, but now, after the Darkness, my eyes have been opened.
I love a good Imperial Stout during this time of year. I also enjoy the Old Rasputin.
I think the trinket must be having a turkey hangover, or something, because she's been really good today, hasn't argued about anything, and willingly laid down for a nap. She even helped calm down the bauble, who really want having any of that nonsense. They've been napping for two hours while I'm sitting in the basement trying to finish off the keg of pomegranate hefe while listening to Pandora.
Watched All the President's Men last night for the first time. Had to look up actor John McMartin as he looked very familiar. Of course he died earlier in 2016. What a year this has been...
I walk away for about 10 minutes in the 4th, and the T-Wolves completely flip the game.
When they got to 13 points down, I had the remote in hand, ready to change the channel. Glad I didn't.
The opposite happened to me when they played the Celtics.
The opposite has pretty much happened in their 10 losses this year. I think this was their first win that was a close game in the fourth quarter.
True, but the swing in that Celtics game was particularly quick. I walked out of the room just before a 17-0 run.
Fidel Castro, dead at 90. Mrs. Hayes' grandfather, MD, knew Fidel, Raúl, & Ramón – he grew up with them after his family moved from Camagüey to Havana in search of better schools. His brother, who went to law school, loaned books to Fidel. MD left Cuba in the Fifties, headed to Chicago to do his residency after completing medical school in Havana, leaving his family behind. (Some eventually made it to the States, others stayed & survived the Revolution.) In his adopted city, far from his Habana Leones, he became a Cubs fan. He served in the medical corps of his adopted home country's military during the Cold War, at one point stationed in Florida, where he diligently tended to Vietnamese refugees from another Communist regime. Early this year he became a great-grandfather. Then his long-hapless adopted team won the World Series. I can't imagine where he's at mentally & emotionally tonight.
This was good.

He must have some great stories.
