There was no score through five. Nick Basto homered in the top of the sixth to put the Barons up 1-0, but the Lookouts scored three in the bottom of the sixth to take a 3-1 lead. Keon Barnum's two-run homer in the top of the seventh tied it 3-3, but Chattanooga got the runs back on LaMonte Wade's two-run single. Basto hit another home run with two out in the eighth to make it 5-4, but that was the last hit Birmingham had.
Paul Clemens pitched five shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk with three strikeouts. He threw just 78 pitches. John Curtiss struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings to keep his ERA at zero. He has 18 strikeouts in 13.2 innings. Ryan Walker was 2-for-3 with a home run. Dan Gamache was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Wade was 2-for-4 and is batting .333. Nick Gordon was 1-for-4 and is batting .319.
