We just got hit by a pretty big storm, but it looks like it'll go north of the cities.
T-1 days til Bartolo. I have no idea why this excites me, but it does.
Also, Adalberto Mejia hasn't pitched the Yankees, so he doesn't know to be scared of them. Have we used that excuse yet? Yes? Crap.
Sounded like the anthem singer sang "the ramparts we watched were so mumble mumble greeeeening".
I always feel bad for folks who mess it up.
thanks for the cover.
It'd be nice to get some more first pitch strikes, but got can't argue with the results.
Yeah, about the only way to have a better inning would be to strike out the side. Judge now has 1 hit since the HR derby. I wonder how long it will be before people blame the derby for messing up his swing.
its already happening
Mejia has a better K rate this year than Santana does.
Nice swing by Rosario. That double came off what looked like the same pitch he swung and missed on the previous pitch.
Phew! I thought for sure that was going to be a big inning after Mejia hit Ellsbury on a two-strike pitch. The only hit he allowed was on an offspeed pitch down out of the zone and the line-drive to end the inning was on the corner, so Mejia really pitching well for the most part.
Twins have had 2 at-bats with a runner at third and less than 2 outs and both were line drives to the opposite field for outs, one that was turned into a double play and the other that probably should have been, and of course neither resulted in runs. The box score will make it look like the Twins are doing poorly in run-scoring situations, but they're just not having much luck. Of course, the worst at-bat with RISP was probably Kepler's, whose soft chopper to second resulted in an error that scored the second run.
This kinda seems like an early hook.
So much for Mejia's quality non-quality start
Timely double play!
That's how you do it, old school!
No doubts.
