On a more positive note, Buxton is the greatest outfielder ever*. Kepler and Granite also rate well, giving the Twins the best outfield this season. Even Grossman has been average.
Also, Buxton can hit a bit.
* In the Statcast era.

I like it, but I don't understand the part about not counting catches not made within eight feet of the wall. Why wouldn't those be figured just like any other fly ball? What am I missing?
You have to slow up for the wall. Well, you don't HAVE to, but it's recommended.
Sometimes, but we've seen lots of balls caught (or not caught) within eight feet of the wall where the outfielder was in no danger of crashing into it.
I think that was to fix problems with Fenway until they figured out something better.
They're still giving credit for ones that are caught, right? So basically it amounts to giving fielders the benefit of the doubt in that zone, and not much more?
Looks like it. So if Buxton slams into the wall and misses a line drive, it doesn't count against him. Or, if he drops a lazy fly ball on the warning track, he gets lucky and that isn't counted either.
Regardless, way better than range factor.
I agree. I'm still not sure how much sense this exception makes, but there aren't so many balls within eight feet of the wall that it would invalidate the stat.
I'm sure liking that seven digit at the front of the Twins' playoff probability percentage.
Twins were predicted to win 77 games by PECOTA. They reached that number last night.
It was somewhat entertaining to look at teams' records and expected W/L and see who is overperforming and underperforming. Yankees' don't look too good in that light.
The Magic Number is 14.
I like this photo. From AP.
Well it looked cool anyway, maybe someone can go in and see what I did. I tried to make it smaller.

MilitaryArchives.ie has a bunch of pre-independence maps of Dublin. I was able to take one and georeference it. Now with spatial data, it can be projected onto any other map, like so.
So cool.
Fun to see what sort of landscape details have persisted over the centuries.
The Angels will be having a bullpen game today against the Rangers. Let's hope it goes 15 innings.
A solid lunch choice for this weary traveler. I got the veggie sambusas, gored gored, and a glass of tej.
That looks awesome.
This photo is awesome.
It's easy to forget that the Huygens probe was also a part of the Cassini mission. Those photos blew me away.
And half of its data were lost.
Twins are now tied with the Indians for second in the AL in OPS+ at 103. The Astros are off the charts. The Twins are 5th in the AL in runs scored on the year.

The article is pretty amazing- especially the part about him "working his rear end off".
Yeah... One of those things that leaves you wanting a lot more information.
