Could be today is the end of meaningful September games for the Twins. If you told me at the start of the season, or probably even in June, that meaningful games would last this long, I would have happily taken it.

Ever wanted to drive a tram? Now you can!
Hint: Use the left or right arrow keys to move.
Hmmm...little too early in the morning for you, sean?
At that point I'd already been awake for over an hour. I meant to post the link yesterday but forgot.
Do you have a link that works for me? I want to drive a tram.
Oh, the link copied incorrectly and lost the scheme. Fixed it.
🙁 it hangs up at "Loading ~ Illustrations ~ 93%"
It hung there for me in Chrome and Firefox on Windows. It eventually finished on Firefox when I moved it to the background to let it spin for a bit on its own. Chrome is still stuck though. It loaded with no problem using Firefox on Linux.
No problem for me on chrome.
I tried to really get it going, but there's clearly a top speed.
When you think your city is broken, just remember that this guy is running for mayor in New Orleans.
West Hollywood?! Open-and-shut case.
Got an email informing me that someone had requested a password reset for my wgom account. Ummm, what? I did not.
reread it -- I'm sure it was a request for password lockout
😛
So, Carlos Gomez gonna Carlos Gomez, I guess.
Fangraphs today gives the Twins 99.5% probability of making the Wild Card... higher than the Yankees.
Well... yeah. But still... shit.
From Trueblood's newsletter today:
I have to confess that I was far too late in coming around on the Yankees. I thought they were a year away from competing, even after the impressive strides they took toward reloading and rebuilding during 2016, and I persisted in that skepticism up to and through the trade deadline. Here’s the truth of the matter: the Yankees are an incredible team. They have the second-best offense in the American League, fueled by two of the best 25-year-old sluggers of their generation. They have turned a higher percentage of opponents’ fly balls into outs than any other team in baseball. With the mid-season addition of Sonny Gray, they have a formidable playoff rotation, in Luis Severino, Masahiro Tanaka, Gray, and CC Sabathia.
They also have something close to the best bullpen ever
Also, here's a reminder, in case you missed it, that Trueblood is doing a daily newsletter. I have been enjoying it immensely, and I'm finding it a very good way to consume some extra baseball stuff that I otherwise wouldn't have, but at the same time it doesn't feel like too much.
I didn't know how often he was going to do these; I was very pleased to learn it was a daily thing.
Same. It's been a little treat.
I've subscribed, and I'm very glad he's writing it. I don't play fantasy baseball anymore, so I don't really have as much reason to maintain a Baseball Prospectus subscription as I once did. I believe his posts are available for a limited time before they go behind the paywall, so that's good. But I'd rather give him some money and get more of his content this way.
All's well that end's well.
The jalapeno is going to love that. He's been watching lots of baseball highlights on YouTube, and he always tells me about the "Nicest Player Moments" videos.
Jon Lester, on the other hand, is a choad.
Haha, I was just coming here to post this. I was going to use the term "buttmunch" though.
I think choad is perfect based on pictures I've seen of him with his hat off.
I do like:
I am shocked, shocked to find that corruption is going on in NCAA basketball.
The NBA is the only basketball to bother with.
The Princess Bride is going to be in theaters briefly for the 30th anniversary. I was my daughter's age the first time this came out. My whole family is going on October 18th. My 10-year old son has re-read "As You Wish" and "The Princess Bride" about 800 times and can basically recite them from memory. He repeats random facts about Andre the Giant now. It's pretty great. The movie will be fun:

It seems silly to pay to attend a movie I've seen a hundred times. On the other hand, I'll do it.
I went and saw it in theaters a couple years ago because teh awesomes.
Saw it in theaters the first time around.
Has he read "The Silent Gondoliers"? It's quite good (and short).
Arbor Lakes, October 15, tickets acquired. The Mrs. and I saw it when we were first dating, it's automatic.
I finished the Washington Post Presidential Podcast series today. Highly, highly recommended. Now starting the Washington Post Constitutional Podcast.

There's a pretty simple procedure for that. I'm just sayin'.
