You may, or may not, have been wondering what was up with the Puerto Rican League this season, in the aftermath of the hurricane there. I managed to find this article describing their plans. I had to translate to English, and of course the translation thingies don't always work perfectly, but as I understand it their plan is to play an abbreviated schedule with four teams, all in January, all on Thursday through Sunday. Thursday and Friday will be single games and Saturday and Sunday will be seven-inning doubleheaders. There will be a play-in game between the second and third place teams and a best-of five series between the winner of that and the first place team. They plan to get all of that done in time for the Caribbean Series, which starts February 1.
I haven't read anything one way or the other regarding the regular season games.
My understanding of the article (and again, I'm using google translate) is that the January schedule will be the entire regular season.
No, I mean Indians vs Twins in April
Sorry. No, I haven't heard anything about that, either. My guess is that they'll wait a while and see how things are progressing. No need to make the decision now.
That's a lot of dedication to get the entire schedule done in a month.
They're also planning for all day games, for two reasons--1) they're not sure whether they'll have reliable power by then and 2) they're not sure how safe it will be for families to go out at night.
