LARA 8, LA GUAIRA 2 IN LARA

Lara scored two in the second and four in the fifth to take a 6-0 lead.  Jecksson Flores was 3-for-4 with a triple.  Henry Urrutia hit a grand slam in the fifth, his second homer of the season.  Rangel Ravelo was 2-for-3 with a home run, his second.  Yoanner Negrin pitched six shutout innings, giving up five hits and a walk with four strikeouts.  For La Guaira, Teodoro Martinez was 3-for-4 with a double.

ZULIA 4, ARAGUA 2 IN ZULIA

Zulia scored three in the second to take a 3-0 lead and led the rest of the way.  Ali Castillo was 4-for-4.  Jairo Perez was 3-for-3 with a double.  The two teams combined to use seventeen pitchers.

ANZOATEGUI 8, MARGARITA 3 IN ANZOATEGUI

Rafael Ortega's two-run single in the fourth was part of a three-run inning that put Anzoategui in the lead 5-3.  Ortega was 4-for-5 with three RBIs.  Balbino Fuenmayor was 1-for-2 with a home run (his third) and three walks.

MAGALLANES 7, CARACAS 2 IN MAGALLANES

Magallanes took a 3-0 lead in the first inning.  Caracas cut it to 3-2, but a two-run fifth put Magallanes back in control of the game.  Dedgar Jimenez pitched four innings, giving up an unearned run on three hits and a walk.  Trayvon Robinson hit a home run for Caracas, his second.

MEXICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

CULIACAN 6, LOS MOCHIS 3 IN LOS MOCHIS

Ronnier Mustelier hit a three-run homer in the fifth to break a 2-2 tie.  Mustelier was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and four RBIs in the game.  Manny Banuelos struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk.

MEXICALI 8, MAZATLAN 3 IN MEXICALI

An eight-run third gave Mexicali all the runs they needed.  Yuniesky Bettancourt was 2-for-4 with two doubles to lead Mexicali.  For Mazatlan, Francisco Moreno pitched 4.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits.

NAVOJOA 16, HERMOSILLO 5 IN HERMOSILLO

Navojoa led 6-0 in the fourth.  Hermosillo cut it to 6-4, but Navojoa scored ten runs in innings six through eight.  Paul Leon was 5-for-6 with a home run, scoring four times and driving in six.  Randy Arozarena was 3-for-5 with two doubles, scoring four times.  Jesus Castillo was 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, and three RBIs.  Diego Madero was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk and scored three times.  For Hermosillo, Bryce Brentz hit a three-run homer, his seventh, and Fernando Perez hit a home run, his sixth.

OBREGON 3, JALISCO 2 IN OBREGON

Leo Heras led off the bottom of the ninth with a double, went to third on a bunt, and scored on a wild pitch to break a 2-2 tie.  Tomo Otosaka was 3-for-4.  Cedric Hunter was 2-for-4 with a home run, his fifth.  For Jalisco, Tyler Alexander struck out eight in 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on five hits and no walks.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Twins:  None.

AGUILAS 6, GIGANTES 3 AT GIGANTES

Leading 3-2, the Aguilas scored three in the ninth to put the game out of reach.  Juan Perez was 2-for-5 with three RBIs.  Francisley Bueno pitched six innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.  Abiatal Avelino was 3-for-4 for the Gigantes.

ESCOGIDO 5, ESTRELLAS 4 AT ESTRELLAS

The Estrellas led 3-0, but Escogido scored two in the fifth and three in the sixth to win it.  The Estrellas got the tying run to second with one out in the ninth.  Starling Marte was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his second) and Franchy Cordero homered to lead Escogido.  For the Estrellas, Radhames Liz struck out five in 4.1 innings, giving up two unearned runs on five hits and a walk.

LICEY 6, TOROS 1 AT TOROS

A four-run fifth put Licey up 5-0.  Jair Jurrjens pitched seven shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks while striking out two.  Carlos Franco hit a home run for the Toros.
