Over the last few days, Comet PanSTARRS (C/2016 R2) has been showing off its active blue carbon monoxide tail.
I just noticed the WGOM coat of arms banner for the first time. Brilliant.
Camping did not go as planned. Drove 2 hours up to Garrison, truck pulling gear breaks down, sit around for a half-hour trying to figure out what to do, drive 2 hours back. All with 3 kids in the car.
I wasn't looking forward to the camping until I'd done all the shopping, packing, etc. Now I'm disappointed.
(Don't worry; this isn't in motion anymore and the Wolves said no)
I wasn't real pumped for Twinsfest this year, but Elder Daughter asked about it and the forecast says it's going to be above freezing next weekend, so now I'm leaning toward go. I don't see him on the schedule anywhere, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Mountie made an appearance or two. On the downside, no Brad Radke again. I've been waiting years for a chance to have him sign a foul ball he threw to Placido Polanco back in the Metrodome.
I'm still looking at the possibility of attending the Winter Melt Down event Saturday night. Was a great time last year. Just a matter of summoning the will to drive up and spend the night in the cities.
Event is sold out if you don’t have tix.
I have a guest room only 15 minutes from event. I’m going.
Sounds like it’s reasonably certain to be a done deal. I feel better about this than signing Rodney, that’s for sure. Berardino says it’s the first multi-year deal the Twins have ever given to a FA reliever, but I have a hard time believing that’s true.
Reed is represented by the same agency as Darvish.
I really never think to look at representation. You've got me excited again.
Or they spent so much time trying to sign Darvish and failing, Reed is the consolation prize.
No no, it's a package deal!
The other day, there was speculation on Twitter about Matt Belisle and the Twins having interest. My keen baseball mind says signing Reed over Belisle is an upgrade.
A little interview with the local boy. I'm thinking he has a shot at being in one of this year's Topps sets again.

Clippers apparently offered Griffin for KAT. Hilarious.

I've got an inside source on access...
rumblin, stumblin, bumblin into the afterlife.
Someone threw some wood into the stove because it's getting hot in here
Ken Rosenthal says the Twins are signing relief pitcher Addison Reed.
Strib says a two year deal for $17 million, but they're attributing Rosenthal.
I saw it on the Twitter machine.
Berardino is saying it's the first time ever the Twins had signed and outside RP free agent to a multi year deal.
Ever.
Blows my mind
