I gone 38+ years and never have never heard Van Morrison's "Warm Love" until this morning , where it was playing over the speakers at the local grocery store.
The PR staff didnt even have enough time to print out a Hale insert page for the media guides.
Twins beat writers tweeting out Buxton has a hairline fracture on his big toe, will be out for a while.
Granite’s AAA line over 40 PA, in case anybody’s wondering: .161/.333/.161.
Jake Cave is hitting .188/.308/.266 over 78 PA.
Went down to Lake Mallileau in Hudson (Sconnie) this morning to check out the huge confluence of American White Pelicans and Cormorants at the dam. Where the water runs out of the lake into the St. Croix River, the pelicans are jostling to line up to get the fish as they come thru the shoot. Awesome to watch them catch the fish in their huge throat pouches, then flip the fish around so that it goes down the hatch in the right direction. On the lake and on the St. Croix, there were more than a thousand pelicans visible, with many other ducks/loons/etc.
Two new species for me today (red-breasted merganser, western grebe) on top of two yesterday (pied-billed grebe, horned grebe).
Good place to find a Western Grebe! We had one for two days at the Coon Rapids Dam.
I have been having a WONDERFUL time here in southern Sweden. We went down to the coast to sight see a bit, then stopped in at the Trelleborg golf club to meet relatives and buffet at the country club (they even had a US flag flying out front with the Swedish flag). There must have been about 16 of us all together, with a couple others joining us on our tour of the little village where our common ancestors (my g-grandparents and their descendants) lived. We then had a projector and computer set up had treats and shared genealogy information and stories, and I filled the Swedish folks in on the 4/7 of the family that emigrated to the US. It definitely made all of my past research worth it.
Tomorrow - takin' the train to Copenhagen for stage two of our va cation.
This boyo's roots from Virestad (not far from Växjö, in Småland). Check out the glassware if you are in that region (Orrefors, Kosta Boda).
I spent a semester in Växjö, and would love to get back there someday.
Växjö is a wonderful city, and we did go to Kosta Boda, so I guess we did good.
Rhu-Ru, thanks for sharing!
I’ll split the difference between you and boyo. Couple years ago my parents had a similar experience with my Dad’s distant relatives in Örkelljunga, ~ 1 hour SE of Virestad and 1.25 hours north of Trelleborg.
Haven't seen any of the movies, but this is motivating me a little bit.
Aaron Slegers threw six shutout innings against Syracuse today. In four starts (24 innings) he has an ERA of 1.50 and a WHIP of 0.92. On the pregame show, Molitor was pretty noncommittal about whether Hughes would get another start. I don't know how good Slegers is going to be, but he deserves the start more than Hughes does.
I can't wait for the Loons to acquire some defense.
C Wilson Ramos exited today's game with bilateral leg tightness. He was removed as a precaution and is day-to-day.
If you are a parent, you've probably been there.

Psychologists tackle the toughest questions in religion.
Proof of God.
The Devil is in the details.

Is he good enough to have that particular fake malady?
