Is Gardy making a special guest managerial appearance today, or something?
This is what I was going to say.
TF? Well, hopefully Moli knows something we don't, but I can't for the life of me guess what.
He wanted a slugger to hit behind the pitcher. You know, make the other team actually face the pitcher for once, and not just walk them to get to the soft lead-off spot.
For fans of the show, John Oliver receives a very cheekily deserved honor:
I was looking at the standings after today's game and I came across just how terrible the AL Central has been so far. In every other division, the 3rd place team would be leading the AL Central. In the AL West, the NL East, and the NL Central, the 4th place team would be, too.
The Spiders have played 9 AL Central opponents, the Twins 7. Excluding each other it's 7 and 5 respectively. I imagine the top two teams' records will normalize and look a little better by the end of the season. Which might make the AL Central look even worse? I dunno.
It's a really bad division. Ignoring the schedule, the Tigers, White Sox, and Royals were all projected at the bottom. The Twins are expected to get 1-2 extra wins because of that.
The Royals hit 4 home runs in a 10-run first inning in Baltimore. How would you like to be an O's fan that bought tickets to the game, especially if you could afford to buy tickets to one game a year.
I didnt' realize the bottom has fallen out in Baltimore. They are only one loss ahead of Cincy for the worse record in baseball.
Yeah, it's a question of when not if Machado will be traded.
I assum Adam Jones is good as gone too.
I kind of doubt the Orioles would get what they want out of him. It depends on how desperate they are to clear him out, I guess.
Travis Shaw with an early 2-run homer off Kluber to give the Brewers the lead over the Indians.
I'd feel better about sharing the division lead if we had a winning record.
I feel like the Twins minor league players are going to revolt pretty soon if they don't get a larger equipment budget.

I feel like this should be a part of one of those "What's Different" photo comparisons.
Highlights for Baseball Dorks
Mauer lead off last night, that means the first baseman has to lead off, so today Morrison is at the top.

Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
I'd feel even better if their record was good.
Brewers beat Kluber. Half-game back.
Paxton no-hits the Blue Jays.
whew, started him.
