June 18, 2018: Blame

So, where does it lay*? Is it on the front office**? The manager***? The offense****?

*"lie"?... no, I'm pretty sure it's "lay".
**Actually, for once I don't think so.
***Wasn't homeboy supposed to be one of the best baserunners evah? Sure hasn't translated.
****At the very least, I know it's not on my beloved Eds.

  1. Hey Spooky (and others of course), Walking Shadows Theater has a real good play that's still playing through this coming Sunday. It's called Equivocation and about Shakespeare having to write a play about the Powder Rebellion. Lots of inside jokes about acting and playwriting, you'd probably enjoy and some modern touches on fake news.. Review below. There was also a good review in St. Paul paper.

    1. Great callout. John Heimbuch and Amy Rummenie, the married couple that runs Walking Shadow, are two of my closest friends from college. John and I shared the stage more than a few times.

      1. My favorite local Company in the Twin Cities. I usually get to one of their plays every season. I think John is acting in this one. I know it’s hard with kids, but well worth it to go see.

    1. Whoever came up with English really shouldn't have had one the past tense for the other. It would have at least made it as clear as por/para and ser/estar en Español.

  2. Ted Williams was the greatest hitter of all time. Here are his teams’ annual OPS+ in order, from his first season of managing to his last: 103, 92, 86, 77.

      1. I’m not sure which belief I’d like to explode more: the one that holds teachers of a skill are less gifted practitioners of that skill, or the one that pretends that being successful in business qualifies a person for any leadership position outside a for-profit business.

    1. He grounded into a double play in his next at-bat. Well, they said they wanted him to put the ball in play and not strike out so much...

        1. A double in his fifth trip, and he scores the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

  3. Hey, AMR any idea what happened to the Crows? I haven’t seen or heard one for months. West Nile again?

    1. They cluster in big numbers in metro areas in winter and spread out into the hinterlands in the spring to raise families.
I've got as many here as I do all year.

      1. Huh? I haven’t seen any here in the city. I have in the past all year round.
