Fun fact: Mauer did not touch the ball on defense yesterday.
Or offense (much)
I like iced tea, but ones that dont have a lot of tea flavor. Brisk Raspberry and Half and Half and Peace Tea raspberry and blueberry flavors are my go tos.
I like iced tea, but I love Arnold Palmers.
My grandfather always added a scoop of frozen lemonade to his iced tea. I had no idea that an "Arnold Palmer" was a thing in the late 1960s, but I knew all about the deliciousness of lemonade in iced tea. 🙂
Last night was louder than Normandy; I'm dreading what tonight brings.
You are not only older than I thought, but also have a great memory for your age.
I can still change my dinner plans to somewhere else when we come through in October, dude!
(okay, I'm not a beer drinker, but that Strawberry Rhubarb Saison has my interest)
Apparently we checked in at about 10.5 inches of rain.
More storms forecast for today. Oy.
I would like to take this opportunity to say how much I hate pause and think they should be outlawed. I had to try to drive around a parade locked town trying to get the trinket to where she needed to meet with her dance studio's float, but we couldn't drive right to it, so my wife had to walk her life half a mile to it. Then I couldn't get to where she wanted me to pick her up, which led to me getting mad because I sat around for nothing when I could have been finding a place to park. It's hot, I'm sweaty and miserable, I'm on edge and feeling extremely irritable. Screw America.
Amazingly, writing that was the high point of my day.
At first I thought he missed home plate, but on replay he clearly touched it. Pretty cool.
The merry-go-round continues: Slegers up, Moya down. They also have DFA'd Tyler Kinley, whom I never understood their interest in to begin with.
If they were going to DFA Kinley, why designate Jorge? Kinley hasn’t pitched since April. What changed in the last five days?
Nothing they're doing makes much sense to me right now. There never seems to be a plan other than to get through the next few days. I've tried to give Falvey and Levine the benefit of the doubt, but I have no idea what they're doing at present.
And remember, in the same rule 5 draft that we took Kinley, we lost Nick Burdi. Burdi's recovering from Tommy John surgery, and only God knows what he'll be when he comes back, but I said at the time, and say now, that I'd rather have Burdi than Kinley.
I don't know why it says that they DFA'd him today, when they gave him back to the Marlins in May. He hasn't been with the organization in two months.
Huh. You've got me there. Everything else I said still stands, though.
The press release clearly says Tyler Kinley, so I don't fault you on that. Maybe the Twins found a roster loophole and exploited it. That's why they've made so many moves; this one finally glitched right.
The plan all along was Moya up for just a few days because they needed another starter for tomorrow.
The thing is, they took Romero out of the rotation with no plan for who was going to replace him. Mejia gets one start and when he struggles he's shipped out. Now Slegers gets a start. Will he actually get a chance, or is he a "one start and out" like he was last time? We're going nowhere. Let's give some of these guys an actual chance and see what we've got, rather than running them up and down like they were on an out-of-control elevator.
Again, the only "plan" seems to be "let's try to get through the next few days".
Currently under heavy mortar fire from all sides; we're instituting radio silence for the rest of the evening, will report our situation in the morning

I miss fun baseball.

Kinley pitched yesterday, in New Orleans.
