WE ARE BACK FROM BREAK! Yes!!!!! I predict these three things:
1. Joe Mauer will hit at least 3 home runs from now until seasons end.
2. Jose Berrios will pitch at least 1 more shut out.
3. The front office will make a trade that everyone hates, but will end up being a great thing for the team.
I have confidence in number two. But I take Metamucil every day.
All games today are free on MLB.tv.
Taylor Motter is back! That should insure a playoff run, right?
There goes your perfect game!
Is there anything in the Bible about coveting your neighbor's catcher? Because I'd really like to see Sally Perez in a Twins uniform.
Don't need him. We have Bobby Wilson!
Right. Excuse me while I count our blessings.
That didn’t take long, did it?
Oofta
Good job, guys.
It didn't help that Gibson got himself into some trouble, but it's also a lot harder when you have to get four outs in an inning.
It's an RBI hit in the score book, but that was cheap run.
Sign me up for the game on Aug 25th.
Dido.
It is very confusing to me when each team has an "Escobar" and each team has a "Dozier".
There goes your no-hitter!
Seems like EE hasn't doubled in like a week
How to beat the shift: Hit it where they ain't.
Twins bats still in All Star Break mode
Gladden speculating that the Twins could perhaps make Monday's game an intentional bullpen game, as they have not yet named a starter. I can't see Molitor doing that.
They also invoked the name of Twins great David West, so we also have that going for us.
What's the Twins' run expectancy with bases loaded and none out?
One.
Their splits this year for that are bad: .250/.250/.250. Two singles, a ROE, and a GIDP have scored six runs in eight PA.
There goes your shutout!
I am shocked--shocked!--that Bobby "Mr. Clutch" Wilson did not come through there.
His RISP is better than Dozier's this year, somehow
Giveback run. Ugh.
Nice catch, Max!
Farm report:
Rochester loses to Norfolk 7-2. Ervin Santana pitched six innings, giving up one run on two his and three walks, but struck out just one.
Chattanooga leads Mobile 3-0 through five. The Lookouts seem to be using Paco Rodriguez as an "opener", as he has started twice in the last five days and has pitched just one inning each time. Brent Rooker hit his seventeenth home run.
Fort Myers leads Lakeland 11-5 in the ninth. Alex Kirilloff is 2-for-5 with two doubles.
Cedar Rapids defeated Great Lakes 1-0. Bailey Ober struck out twelve and walked just one in eight shutout innings.
Elizabethton trails Greeneville 10-3 in the sixth. Carlos Suniaga gave up six runs (five earned) in just two-thirds of an inning.
The GCL Twins defeated the Red Sox 4-3. Erick Rivera brought home the tying and lead runs with a double in the eighth.
The DSL Twins defeated the Nationals 5-4. A Jeferson Morales single in the seventh brought home the lead run.
They should've shifted a player out beyond the fence.
My wife is convinced that the Twins tend to win a lot of games right before the All-Star break and lose a lot right after. The records don't really bear that out for the past few years, but maybe it's more of a premonition.
Finally, an Escobar double. New career high for him.
Please tell me Buesnitz goes down when Santana returns
Doz, late and close...
technically a sacrifice, but still uninspiring.
ball 4 to escobar could have easily been GO(SO).
nifty running by eddie to screen the SS.
should have started the rally in the the 7th inning
kepler kills the rally. batter before, garver worked the count well to BB a run in to ensure another one run loss.
