  1. My daughter’s best friend is having open heart surgery today. I don’t know how ready Skim would be to learn such a hard lesson. Think about Jack today, gang.

    1. My wife's cousin had that at 17. She had to give up sports but she's doing great. Hope something similar here.

  2. I am attending Wednesday's Twins game with my office. (12:10pm start.)
It's possible I could land a bonus ticket. If so, does anyone want it?
I'll get at most one, so I'm not going to favor one kid over the others this year.

    1. Is this the biggest fire sale in Twins history? I don't remember the Twins being this active in the past. And yet I don't feel like they've weakened themselves all that much, especially for next year since Escobar is going to be a free agent and, a, there's no guarantee he was going to be back if they didn't trade him and, b, there's no guarantee that he won't be back next year after trading him.

      1. i say trade anyone with an expiring contract. however, if they leave floatsam like belisle around here instead giving some kids from the farm a shot then they aren’t furthering their cause as well as they could.

    1. The Yankees apparently like acquiring middling starters from the Twins. Worked great last time to the tune of a -0.1 WAR.

  3. If you are a minor leaguer in the Twins system but just barely holding on to a roster spot, this week has not been good for you. I imagine the Twins will have to be making roster cuts with all the 2-for-1 deals they are doing.

    1. It seemed like there was at least one point that Lynn was one or two bad starts away from being DFA-ed and now the Twins get 2 players that fit into their future and appear to have pretty good value in a trade for Lynn.
