Game 109: royals @ twins

Well, back to the business of winning baseball games, i guess. It's not like Ernie de la Trinidad is going to gey promoted now and make things watchable.

A while back, i said that if Sano, Buxton, and Dozier didnt heat up, we were done for. Well, Dozier's on a differemt team, and it's looking increasingly likely that we won't be seeing Buxton until next April, so what now?

Well, first off, Belisle* needs to be gone. This plan doesn't even need a step two. Call up Chris Gimenez. See if he's willing to leave the Cubs in order to get the opportunity he's always wanted: pitching relief for a mediocre ball club.

Or, you know, get a look at what you're working with next year......unless what you're working with next year is Belisle*...

Oh,no.

* Feel free to subsritute "Bobby Wilson" here. The best part is, the plan and target player wouldn't need to change at all!

  1. I was hoping the addition of Oliver Drake would at least have the benefit of getting Belisle off the roster. Possibly it still will, but for now Matt Magill is on paternity leave.

  2. I understand Big Brother A was at last night's game and is at tonight's game. Hope he's enjoying the ceremony.

  3. Mitch Garver and his Hot Bat are not in the lineup, because we need to keep playing Bobby Wilson.

    1. Well, we are contending for a top 5 draft pick, assuming we can manage to nonwin enough games.

  4. Burch Smith is not a good major league pitcher. I'm going to be disappointed if we don't get a decent number of runs tonight. Of course, I've been disappointed before.

  5. I'd be embarrassed if I was a big league batter and they left half the field open for me and I couldn't get a hit.

  6. I really hope they don't pass any rules restricting shifts. I think that, over time, it will take care of itself. In fact, anecdotally, I think we're already seeing more players trying to beat the shift. It just takes time to change your swing when you've been swinging one way for years. And it's even harder when they're pitching you in such a way as to try to force you to hit the ball a certain way. But these are great players, and eventually they'll figure it out.

    1. Same. Implementing the shift is such an easy idea that it quickly took over across the league. Players learning how to hit or bunt the other, consistently, way will take much longer.

  7. Butera should have been struck out as a Berrios curveball snapped over the middle of the plate and the ump called it a ball.

  8. Bert doing his best to get the Royals to ask Drake about what he's wearing on his left hand.
