Pete goes back to school today. Does everyone start around today? I remember MPLS starting around Labor Day.

We never started until after Labor Day, and I think that's still true. Around here though, some started a couple weeks ago.
Same though I recall once we started before because Labor Day was on the latest possible day.
Its after Labor Day way down here, too. I've got the 4th circled in bright green ink since its the day my daycare bill goes from a second mortgage payment to a more reasonable amount.
A few of the schools in our area start today, a few after labor day. This 2 weeks before labor day thing is baffling to me. I mean, I get it, it's because you want more time to teach to the tests in the spring, but... it's summer. Let it be summer.
EAR starts homeschooling on the traditional calendar: Day after Labor Day.
But this year, CER and HPR have online classes that start next week.
And she did start one week early the year that we went camping at Jay Cooke S.P. in mid September.
The 4-year old started his preschool this morning. The 7-year-old has already been back for two weeks, though he makes up for it in the spring, since heβs done before Memorial Day.
Growing up, we always started the day after Labor Day. I thought that was some kind of state law in Minnesota, that you couldnβt start any earlier than that?
We used to start on the Wednesday before Labor Day. I thought it was a great way to ease into the school year. Three days the first week and four days the second week.
It made me really glad to read it. I've enjoyed the occasional updates on your progress, and this was a really thoughtful way of wrapping it all up. Plus, Rumi! Thanks for sharing.
Personally, I am disappointed that he didn't title his memoir Lowe Life
Maybe split the difference and go "Lovve Life"
We are getting very close to sending the boy off to college. My wife is already super emotional. We have been preparing actively for this moment for years but it is hitting her very hard, very quickly. I also am getting ready to head into the doctor, where I expect to hear that I have another major blood clot in my leg. I think the long drive out west was not beneficial. I am also thinking I may end up on Xarelto or similar product for a long, long time. Damn. This is not helping my wife's emotional state.
Well, better news than expected on the bad wheel. More of a surface blood clot, which is much less likely to make its way up to the lungs or heart. Doctor wants to just try aspirin daily (for the rest of my life) to see how that works. I did ask if I should come back in for some tests that could identify if I am at further risk, and the guy said no... can't test for it. Made it sound like I just have to deal with the blood clots as they emerge. I will have to get some alternative opinions on that.
You can't test for Factor V? I'm calling bs. I have two brothers and dad that have had clotting issues in the past, so I got tested. I have my problems, but not with that thankfully
If they can't test for this stuff, then my monthly blood tests when I had my clots were wasted time.
I know warfarin requires a monthly blood test. I do have a couple friends who are doctors, so second opinions will be sought out.
I think the regular tests when on warfarin are to make sure you are not bleeding out internally. Or to see if the rats are dead yet.
Yes, my doctor friend says I should get tested for Factor V, and 2 proteins I can't remember right now. As a surgeon, he says it would be nice to know, especially if I end up having more surgeries on my knees, shoulders, etc.
For better or worse, The Athletic continues to plunder local sports writers, now including Arif Hasan.

I wrote this about finishing the Superior Hiking Trail on Saturday.
Looking forward to reading it later.

I'm going to say better since I can read any of it very easily.

My half-baked FKB is up. There is not an announcement in the thread.
Nice whooping crane pix in recently seen at the MOU.
