is that the Rockets offered four 1st round draft picks for Toppest Jimmy. I could live with that.

Ugh on trade. Draft Pick in 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2015. The 2019 and 2021 picks are probably going to be in back 20's. KAT will be 30 when last pick comes on. No thanks.
If it's only draft picks, then yeah, it kind of sucks. But, the real reward for that trade is the KAT doesn't request a trade of his own by the end of the year, which I 100% believe he will do is butler isn't traded.
Also, I just remembered it had to include some players for salary cap reasons.
What’s the alternative? Keeping Butler in a year where you definitely can’t beat Houston or GSW? The rumored Miami deal wasn’t going to transform the franchise. Who are they possibly going to get to really boost the team’s chances 2-3 years from now?
I am a big fan of quantity in drafting. Sure, you’re not generally going to hit on a 20s pick, but if you get 3 1st-round picks every two years? At worst, it gives you more liquid assets that make it easier to facilitate future deals.
The Wolves’ best shot at being a really meaningful contender is to get a lucky in the draft and hit on a star to pair with Towns and pray to all the dieties that along the way you can either deal Wiggins (for cap space, maybe in a deal where they can upgrade with a max player in return) after a career season, or you get a coach that can play to Wiggins’ strengths and make him a good third wheel.
So I would go all in on collecting draft picks and investing in G league player development to fill out the back end of the roster for cheap.
The biggest problem is that the Wolves need a good FO and Flip’s the only guy who has seemed to make things work under Glen Taylor.
Also Wolves-related, I think KAT is tanking. Maybe unintentionally because he’s just demoralized with the circus in town, but having signed a long-term deal, getting a high draft pick is as much in his interests as it is the franchise as a whole. Plus tanking might force Taylor to fire Thibs.
Much less eventful morning in Montgomery County, Maryland today... until we reached Sheenie's aunt and uncles' and I discovered I forgot the diaper bag with ALL the necessities back at the hotel 30 minutes away. Uh whoops. At least I didn't forget a kid!
For whatever it's worth, Butler is "out sick" for tonight's game.
