All right, let's make this a quick one, everybody. We all want to get home to our families.

The Semantics Police are letting this one go.
My brother-in-law has been wanting to fry a turkey for years, so we’re actually doing it this year. I ordered all the equipment, but need to set it up this week before the big day to make sure we’re cooking with gas on Thursday.
I recommend doing it on the sidewalk. I only ever had one spill over (which was fortunately due to too much oil and not from too much water on the turkey) and I was glad I was on concrete. Uhh, related to that, probably best to wait until the turkey is in the pot before cracking that first beer.
Yep, I was planning to do this in the driveway at my mother-in-law’s place. I think the thing I’m most worried about is what I’m going to do with a stock pot filled with 5 gallons of slightly used peanut oil after it cools down.
YEE-HAW!
Come to think of it, the one piece of gear not on my prep list is a fire extinguisher. Yes, my dad was a firefighter.
The suggested videos are like a smash-cut of Mythbusters scenes.
The clean up is why I just stopped doing it. For the oil, it was a good thing I live in a new sub division. I'd just dump it on one of the open lots.
As I have been unable to keep up with fall/winter baseball reports this year, here is an article showing how Twins players did in the Arizona Fall League.
I have 35-40 of my wife's family coming to town for Thanksgiving on Thursday. We decided that instead of cramming them into our house (and having to prepare the house only to have to clean it again that night), we are going to host it at the place of business. The nice thing is most of the ingredients I need are already in a cooler somewhere and... dishes will be so much easier.
And if you serve them the food that's about to expire, win-win!
I haven't been to your house, but I can say that there better not be any complaints about the restaurant!
Thanks! I do expect some complaints that I don't just open up everything behind the bar. I will be sealing that area off and just putting out a select set of options for the family. My wife is going to guard it all and she can be tenacious!
Sounds like your Thanksgiving could end up on the society page and the police report of the local newspaper.
We're going to visit friends in Arizona for Thanksgiving. He was the Best Man at my wedding. This will be the first time we've gone out of town for Thanksgiving I think since we've been married. If we would do anything, it would be for Christmas/New Year's (such as last year when we visited my parents in the Twin Cities).
Jeff Passan is reporting James Paxton traded to the Yankees. Haven't heard who the Mariners got in return. Sure would hate to be a left-handed batter that played for the Jays, O's or Rays between Paxton and Sale and Price with the Red Sox.
HOT STOVE IS BURNING!
Yanks swapping out Sonny Gray (supposedly he is on the trading block) for James Paxton.
When are teams going to stop making stupid trades that send Bronx-ward good players on team-friendly contracts that keep the Yankmes under the luxury tax threshold?
Not in my lifetime.
On the other hand,
1. Paxton just turned 30.
2. Paxton is second-year arb eligible now. Coming off consecutive seasons of 3.8 rWAR and 2.9 rWAR, I would presume he's going to get a big bump from his $4.9 million 2018 salary.
3. The lead talent going back to Seattle was 22-year old Justus Sheffield, a high-strikeout lefty starter who immediately becomes Seattle's top prospect (per Fangraphs).
4. Second prospect Erik Swanson will be age-25 this season and pitched well in 72 innings at AAA last season. He could very well make the rotation too.
I get the sentiment, but I don't see this as a "stupid" trade. Mariners weren't all that likely to contend this year with Paxton. Sheffield and Swanson could very well provide a lot more value at a lower price than Paxton will deliver this year and next.
St. Cloud State takes two from Bemidji State and moves into first place in the NCAA hockey rankings, UMD splits with Denver and drops to second, Minnesota State nets a pair from Ferris State and remains in third place. UMass and (the) Ohio State round out the top five. Gophers split with St. Lawrence and drop out of the top twenty.
Clevelanders ditching Chief Wahoo? Stay tuned...
Far be it from me to be talking up the NFL, but this MNF game is bonkers.
My Twitter feed was blowing up so I’m watching first non-Vikes MNF game in years.
I've started seeking out Chiefs games for the Mahomes factor. Holy shit, this kid. It's like Steph Curry at QB.
Pat's kid is pretty good, isn't he? Fun to watch, too.
I'd be happy to root for KC come January.
scorigami!
Highest ever for a losing team.
After the Sixers beat the Suns tonight, Jimmy Buckets and Allen Iverson exchanged jerseys. I wonder if they talked about practice?

Watch out for drunk Canadian curlers!
Fer real.
Are they in a caravan? Build a wall!

I laughed.
