Got an eye appointment today. My prescription has only changed once in about five years. Hoping to keep the status quo.

they have doctors JUST FOR EYES now?
I think I saw one in about 1997....
when you get older, you'll learn better.
I have three different pairs of glasses; I'll be kicking and screaming before I go to bifocals.
That's up to you, of course, but going to bifocals was the easiest thing in the world for me and I would not willingly give them up.
My last prescription (new contacts) makes it so I can't read without cheaters. My previous prescription (current glasses) I can read. Due to go in again, and will try to hold on to that older prescription, as I also want to avoid the dreaded bifocals. I have no rational reason for this reluctance other than just being stubborn.
I find it unnatural to look down to do close-up work; when I work (stand-up workstation) or read, or play/sing with sheet music, the media is right in front of me, which defeats the purpose of a bifocal lens.
the Mrs has cheaters for reading with her contacts (gas permeable, some ridiculous prescription). I have cheaters for reading and have been using them for about 7-8 years now. I have pairs in the bedroom, study, car, and office. And still manage to forget them sometimes.
I just had an eye check to renew my license, but that's the only time I've ever been close to an eye doctor.
Wow. That is a cool human story. Now I have to sit in my office for a few minutes for the tears in my eyes to dry up.
I'm officially a parent to an adult today. Does that make me old?
No, you're birth date makes you old.
Old? You're still a kid!
NDSU will defend their FCS title three weeks from today. This is, quite possibly, the greatest run in college football history at any level. With a win in Frisco, that will be seven titles in eight seasons and 15 overall, all in my lifetime. Just unbelievable.

My Dad's Friendship with Charles Barkley
fun story. Famous people need friends too.
