No Counterpart...no Legion...pffft.
Even if you are just Bruce-curious, I strongly suggest you check out the Springsteen on Broadway gig on Netflix. It is fantastic. Probably 60-40 music v. the Boss just talking about his life/dropping knowledge bombs on us. I was completely enthralled and I'm a casaul fan.
Watched Die Hard with the family. 15 y.o. claimed it wasn't a Christmas movie because it didn't feature the Christmas spirit. My counterargument was that Officer Al shooting the last terrorist represented a Christmas miracle since he hadn't been able to draw his weapon .
Am not a fan of this season's Dr. Who. Only thing impressive about it is the body count. Graham is the only character I was at all invested in; the others were poorly acted and the stories were (mostly) weak. Which is sad.
Shhhh. I am three or four weeks behind.
I haven't even started yet. I do have them all recorded, though.
I finally saw Logan a couple weeks ago. I was completely blown away by it. Just an incredible, fantastic movie and the perfect send off for wolverine.
I also watched Buster Scruggslast weekend and really enjoyed it. Definitely recommended for Coen brothers fans.
I listened to the recent WTF with TBN. Those waters ran muuuuch deeper than I was expecting. Maron even opened it with a, Whoa, this guy!
brb, gonna go listen to that.
We loved Buster Scruggs, might have to give it a second viewing this weekend. For some reason it reminded me of Hail, Caesar! a lot.
Dude, it was much better than Hail, Caesar!
Yeah, not debating the quality, it just had that same kind of vibe and look and feel to some of it, part homage and part parody.
Weird all the B's in that first category: "Best Motion Picture – Drama"
If only there was a movie called “Beale Bohemian BlacKkKlansman Born Black", it surely would have been the only nominee.
Similar thing going on in "Best Motion Picture – Animated":
“[]irai Into the Internet Isle of Incredibles, ”
I have been watching Season 3 of Daredevil. It is the best Marvel Netflix show. It is approaching Breaking Bad levels of tension.
Has anyone mentioned Hell on Wheels here before? It's been around a while. We're about 6 episodes in and enjoying it.
We're late to the party but we recently binged The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and loved it, top quality in every aspect, but the writing, direction and production design really stand out. Mrs. Twayn started watching Ozark without me and now I have to catch up on that so I can watch the rest with her, the bits I've seen look good. We haven't seen many movies lately, but we have some theater gift cards from Christmas that we plan to use this weekend and on New Years (Younger Daughter was sick on Christmas so we didn't go to the movies as planned). Green Book, The Favourite, The Mule and Vice are at the top of my list to see.
Went to The Favourite last night. It was delicious. Not for kids.
Got Isle of Dogs from the library. I liked it
Went to Aquaman with Runner daughter, and this difference between DCEU and MU movies hit me -- on-screen subtitles:
Aquaman -- Somewhere in the North Atlantic
MU -- exact latitude and longitude
But how was the flick?
We were entertained. But holy crap do they leave you scratching your head at times. Why?...what?...oh whatever.
Best CGI: wait, that was Dolph Lundgren?
"Why?...what?...oh whatever."
Pretty much describes my reaction to Avengers: Infinity War (which I watched a few days ago, it's freshly to NetFlix).
I don't have all of the backstory fresh in my head (and I may not have seen it all).
The more I mull over Avengers: Infinity War, the more I think that this is where I stop caring about the Marvel universe. I'm lost.
My kids are getting old enough to watch these, but it'd be impossible for them to jump in where things are, and the backstory requires so many other movies, I just don't want to.
Finally got around to Star Wars The Last Jedi and I thought it could be split off into two movies. One with Rey and Luke and the other evil guy I cant remember the name, and one with Leia and the Rebels. Tried to watch Rogue One but got twenty minutes into it and was bored/
And here I thought they should have made it zero movies. I'm about done with the franchise
They can go that direction too. Only reason I watched it , it was Christmas Day and the basketball games were boring me. I gave up on the Marvel movies after Iron Man 3. I never got excited about SW being in the theaters. Im probably out of their target audience age now.
Linds and I just finished binging Superstore. It starts out a little flat, and it's not exactly award-worthy TV, but it was funny, and sometimes, a half hour comedy is just what you're looking for.
